Beorim Orphanage For Girls is a home for those who have none, a place of comfort for all the little girls that have wound up walking alone. Their reputation precedes them: it is said of them that they treat every child like their own, and shower them with all the love they need to grow into functional adults. Rumors even say that they have let some of their residents stay even as they have reached adulthood, because they are a part of the family.
Well, the truth is a little different. Sure, they did let a few girls stay as adults, but that was in exchange for them working there. And now that they must take in another wave of orphaned children, these seven girls — nay, women — have politely been told to leave the orphanage. The thing is, none of them have any money to their name, no diplomas, no job experience, nothing to help them fit into the real world. Determination alone won't land them jobs to pay the bills, especially not if they intend to stay together... Sometimes, one must simply pivot towards more unorthodox solutions.
If they don't have money of their own, why not find people who do? The idea is crazy, borderline criminal, but it just might work. In an attempt to find wealth, or at least a way to survive, they decide to infiltrate the colorful high society of Seoul, and become entangled with socialites living glamorous, often obscenely luxurious lives. As they hide behind falsified, embellished backstories and identities, these seven girls follow the richest of the rich on opulent parties and trips, and carve themselves a place in this world, one they were never allowed to have. But as magnificent as this universe of riches looks to the outsider, they soon learn that things behind the scenes are not quite as... Beautiful.
As they get too caught up in the game and create real bonds with these socialites, they must brace themselves for the gigantic bombshell that the reveal of their true intentions will be.
They just weren't born lucky.

NOTES ✦ my first af in a long time... i'm so nervous! i really like this idea, so i hope you’ll enjoy it too. despite some of the comparison titles, this story will be quite lighthearted (no murder, ripley). it will mostly focus on romance and drama, though it may touch on some heavier and messier subjects when it comes to the characters' backstories. as of now, i can't provide any definite content warning, aside from the usual rich folk nonsense and other excessive bad habits.
