My alarm went off at five o'clock the next morning, which would usually be to my dismay, but today I was too excited to be upset.

I leapt out of bed, changing into the clothes I had set out the night before and slinging my bag over my shoulder. I grabbed a muesli bar as I raced out the door and towards the elevator. Once I reached the parking garage, I unlocked my car and climbed inside.

The drive to the shuttle bus stop was relatively uneventful. There was barely anyone on the road and almost no traffic. Turning into the car park, I found a spot amidst the hundreds of other vehicles. Everyone was waiting to get on the bus to set. I locked the car behind me and joined the queue.

When it arrived, we all piled on and I sat towards the back, truing to catch up on some sleep.

The set was incredibly lively for such an ungodly hour, but it got me excited. Today was going to be another great day.

"Hey, Micheal." I I picked up my camera from the pile and placed it down next to my colleague. Micheal smiled up at me with a tired expression. "How was the date?"

He chuckled as he levelled the tripod on the uneven ground. "It was good." I released the clamps on my tripod, letting the legs fall to the ground. "We went to a bar in Bondi and then back to her place..."

"Her place?" I reached over and punched Micheal's shoulder playfully. "Nice." He rubbed his shoulder with a dramatic eye roll. "Do you think you'll see her again?"

Micheal nodded. "I'm seeing her tonight."

"Alright!" I replied, securing the camera on the tripod. "Get it, I guess—"

"—So Jody specifically asked for me?"

I looked up to see two men walking towards us. One was dressed in black, holding a clipboard and looking stressed. The other—the one who had spoken in a distinct canadian accent—was younger, with dirty blonde hair and a bright red jacket. I eyed them as they walked closer, my eyes lingering on the foreigner.

"Excuse me?" I looked up, to see them both standing right in front of me. The guy in black waved to me, smiling. "Do you know where Jody is?"

I looked between them, catching the canadian man's eye, before quickly reverting y gaze to his companion. "Yeah, uh..." I waved towards the direction of the director's tent. "I think she's in the tent."

The man nodded. "Thanks." I smiled politely before focussing on setting up my camera. "I'm Dan." I looked back up as he held out his hand to shake mine. I reciprocated politely. "I—uh—I gotta run, but can you show Colt where to go?" I looked back up and prepared to decline, but Dan was already backing away, shooting finger guns in my direction. "I appreciate you."

I sighed. "Sure, okay." I gestured for Colt to follow me and he fell into step beside me. "She should be in the director's tent."

"Thanks," he said in that accent as we walked side by side. "Do you know where I can get a coffee?" I glanced up at him, noticing his tired expression. He met my gaze. "Jet lag's kicking in."

I chuckled, turning right to head past the trailers and towards the director's tent. "There's a van near the tent." We rounded the corner and stopped right outside the tent. I pulled back the flap, holding it open for Colt, who thanked me as he passed. I glanced over at the monitor. No sign of Jody. "She's usually here."

Colt shrugged. "It's fine." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "I'll just get a coffee while I wait."

I nodded, grabbing the SD cards on the table. "No worries." I followed Colt back outside, breathing in the scent of coffee. "I'm sure she'll be back soon."

Colt gave me a thumbs up, before turning around and joining the back of the coffee line. "Thanks anyway. See you around."

I nodded in return, turning away to head back towards my camera.

"Skye!"

I sighed inwardly, turning back around to see Dan running towards me. "Hello."

Dan stopped in front of me, panting. He waved Colt over, who left the coffee line with a grumble, pocketing his wallet.

"Colt, we're about to start the car roll scene." Colt's eyes widened. "They need you down on the beach." I crossed my arms impatiently. "You too, Skye."

I pursed my lips unsurely. "Why?"

Dan didn't respond immediately. He just put his hand on my shoulder and led me away. "Jody wants you on the main camera in the car with her."

My eyes widened as I blindly followed Dan and Colt. "Wait, what?"

Dan rolled his eyes. "The camera in the car with Jody. She wants you to operate it."

"Yeah... I know," I stuttered, taking it all in "I heard you." I can't believe Jody trusts me with this shot. It's like the most important shot of the film.

"Congrats," Colt praised, patting me on the back encouragingly. "You got the Comic-Con shot." I shook my head, my heart jumping into my throat. "You must be good."

I shook my head. "I've never done something like this before."

"Wow." Colt's eyes widened. He was clearly impressed. "Well, Jody knows talent when she sees it."

I smiled bashfully. "Thanks."

"You ready, Skye?" I nodded as I approached Jody, who was standing next to the rigged car. The tow bar had a camera mounted on it. "I'm counting on you. Comic-Con shot, remember?"

I nodded. "Yep." Jody ushered me into the back seat of the car. "Are you sure you don't want someone else to do this?"

"Nope." Jody shook her head. "I trust you."

She shot me a reassuring smile before hopping into the front seat with the monitor. I situated myself in the back, checking all the camera settings and inserting the SD card. Suddenly, the realisation of what I had to do hit me. Don't fuck this up, Skye.

A/N:  This film makes me so happy. I've already seen it 3 times in theatres. I love the movie as a whole but I think my favourite seen would have to be when Colt is crying in the car to All Too Well by Taylor Swift. It's just so hilarious!
