Author's POV:

The next morning, Andrei woke up to an empty bed, Bella's side cold and untouched. His heart ached as he remembered the events of the previous night. He couldn't believe Bella had left without giving him a chance to explain further. Determined to resolve the situation, he dressed quickly and headed downstairs, hoping to find her. To his dismay, she was nowhere to be found. His heart pounded in his chest as he grabbed his phone and dialed her number, only for it to go straight to voicemail.

"Dammit," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. He needed to find Bella, but first, he had to deal with Anna.

Andrei's POV:

I stormed into the kitchen, where Anna was casually sipping coffee, her face serene as if nothing had happened. The sight of her calm demeanor ignited a fury within me. "Anna," I said, my voice low and dangerous, "we need to talk."

She looked up, feigning innocence. "Good morning, Andrei. What's wrong?"

I clenched my fists, trying to maintain my composure. "Bella left last night. She said you made her feel unwelcome, that you looked at her with hatred and disgust. What the hell is going on?"

Anna's eyes widened in mock surprise. "Oh, Andrei, I have no idea what she's talking about. I was nothing but polite to her. Maybe she's just... insecure?"

Her words only fueled my anger. "Insecure? Bella is the strongest woman I know. Don't play games with me, Anna. I want the truth."

She set her coffee cup down, a small, sly smile playing on her lips. "Alright, Andrei. You want the truth? Fine. Bella is right. I don't like her. She's not good enough for you. I can't stand seeing you with her when it should be us together. I love you, Andrei."

Her confession hit me like a punch to the gut. "What the hell, Anna? We've been friends for years, and you decide to spring this on me now? You knew I was married. How could you?"

Anna's smile vanished, replaced by a look of determination. "Because I'm tired of waiting, Andrei. You belong with me, not her. She doesn't understand you like I do. I've been by your side through everything. Don't you see? We're perfect for each other."

I took a step back, disgusted. "You need to leave, Anna. Now. I don't ever want to see you again."

Her eyes narrowed, and she stood up, her demeanor shifting from pleading to menacing. "You think you can just throw me out, Andrei? After everything we've been through. No. I'm not going anywhere. Bella will leave you, and when she does, I'll be here waiting."

I shook my head, feeling a cold resolve settle in. "You're delusional, Anna. I will never be with you. Get out before I make you."

She laughed bitterly. "This isn't over, Andrei. Not by a long shot."

With that, she stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind her. I felt a mix of relief and anger, but I couldn't dwell on it. I needed to find Bella and make things right.

Author's POV:

Andrei spent hours driving around the city, searching for Bella. He called her friends, visited her favorite spots, but she was nowhere to be found. Desperation gnawed at him as he returned home, defeated. As he walked through the front door, his phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Bella.

"I'm at the cabin. I need some time to think."

Relief washed over him. At least she was safe. He quickly packed a bag and headed for the cabin, determined to win her back.

When he arrived, he found her sitting on the porch, staring out at the lake. Her eyes were red from crying, and his heart broke at the sight. He approached slowly, not wanting to startle her.

"Bella," he said softly, "can we talk?"

She looked up, her expression weary but not unkind. "Andrei, I don't know what to think anymore."

He sat beside her, taking her hand in his. "Anna confessed everything. She doesn't like you because she's in love with me. But I told her to leave, Bella. I told her she means nothing to me compared to you."

Bella's eyes searched his, seeking the truth. "Andrei, I love you. But this... this hurts. Knowing she was so close to you, feeling like an outsider in my own home."

He squeezed her hand, his voice earnest. "I know, and I'm so sorry. I was blind to her intentions, but I swear, Bella, you're the only one I love. I'll do whatever it takes to prove that to you."
