"About Molly? What about her?" Elisa asked

Mabel hesitated"Actually Mum Molly is a—"

But before she could finish Nathan burst in  "What are you doing here?" he demanded

"She's here to see me Nathan Mind your own business"

Nathan sneered "Here to spread more lies and rubbish I suppose?" And with that he grabbed Mabel's arm and dragged her out of the room

"Let go of me!" Mabel shouted wrenching herself free from Nathan's grasp

"What are you doing here?" Nathan bellowed

"I'm here to tell Elisa about Alex's marriage and his wife" Mabel retorted

"And how is that any of your business?"

"It seems you don't know the truth about Alex's marriage It's a sham, a contract-based arrangement And the boy you saw there? He's her son"

"How did you know I was there? Are you stalking me? listen Mabel can't you just stay away from Alex you are his past"

"you need to understand I was a part of Alex's life before molly came along And I'm not going anywhere He belongs to me and I won't let go"

"That was before Mabel! He belong to molly now and if their marriage is fake or not it's none of your business You're just holding on to the past Can't you just move on and mind your own business? You're already in the past can't you just stay in your lane?"

" And it's all your fault Alex broke up with me You're the one who ruined everything"

"Say that one more time, and I'll hit you! You're the one who's stupid causing all this trouble from the start You turned me and my brother against each other, but I don't regret it I did it to save him from you, and I'm happy I did So stay away from him and Molly He deserves to be happy"

"His happiness lies in me I am Alex's happiness!"

"Why are you so desperate Mabel? Wake up, Alex is not yours anymore!"

Mabel's eyes welled up with tears as she pleaded "Please help me I need him to be mine again" She reached out grasping for Nathan's arm but he pushed her away shaking his head in disgust

"You're still your father's little lap dog, aren't you? When will you stop being a puppet and stand up for yourself?" Nathan sneered, shaking his head

He grasped Mabel's chin forcing her to meet his gaze. "Mabel, you're stuck in the past Get that through your head. You're trying to force something that will never work. And I won't let it happen If you try to harm Molly or her son, I swear on my father's grave that I'll take matters into my own hands You'll regret ever crossing me"

Nathan released her chin and slammed the door behind him leaving Mabel in tears But she wiped her face

"I'd rather die than let Alex go He belongs to me and to me forever"

"We lost the project" Jason announced entering Ezra's study room

"Who won it?" Ezra asked his eyes narrowing

"The Richardson Company and the Millers Company We came in tenth,"

Ezra's face turned red with anger as he slammed his fist on the table shattering the cup he was holding "For fuck's sake, do something about it! I want us to crush the Richardson Company in the next share meeting"

"You know that's not possible, sir. I—"

"Make it possible, you bastard! I pay you to get results, so do something about it!" Ezra yelled

Jason bowed his head and quickly exited Ezra's study room, closing the door behind him Ezra took a deep breath, trying to calm down, before walking out of his study room and into Mabel's room

"Dad," Mabel said standing up from her bed

"You're sleeping while my entire company is crumbling, and it's all your fault! I gave you a simple task marry into the Richardson family to boost my company's shares and power But you can't even manage that!"

Mabel tried to defend herself, "I am working on—"

But before she could finish Ezra lashed out with his walking stick, striking her and sending her tumbling to the ground Clara rushed to Mabel's side, shielding her from further harm

"Ezra for Pete's sake, stop hitting her! She's your daughter!" Clara exclaimed

"I don't want a weakling as a daughter Listen Mabel I'm giving you just three months to marry into the Richardson family If you fail, you'll regret the consequences I mean it!" Ezra's voice was cold and menacing as he stormed out of her room

Clara looked at Mabel"Are you okay?"

"Just get out" she snapped

"Mabel..."

"Get the hell out of my room, now!" Mabel yelled

Clara hastily exited closing the door behind her Mabel's scream echoed through the room as she swept everything off her table

She popped a pill her hands shaking as she clutched her head laughing maniacally "I need to make my father proud of me I need to do that"

"Mom tell me a night story" Jasper requested his eyes already heavy with sleep

"Alright dear" Molly replied sitting beside him and weaving a soothing tale that soon lulled him into slumber After a while she gently kissed his forehead and tiptoed out of his room switching on the light in the hallway

As she approached her own room, she heard a faint moaning sound coming from the adjacent room She tried to ignore it

"Did Alex bring a girl home?" she wondered, her curiosity getting the better of her She walked to the door and opened it without knocking revealing Alex emerging from the bathroom dripping with water a towel tied around his waist Thomas was lying on the bed shirtless his gaze fixed on her as she entered

"What the hell is going on here?"

"Hey it's not what you think," Alex said, holding up his hands in a calming gesture as he moved closer to her

"Don't come any closer!" she warned her eyes wide with alarm. "Oh my god you are a gay..." she trailed off, shaking her head

She took one more look at the scene before her and then her eyes rolled back and she collapsed to the ground unconscious.....
