"Get back to work right now!" Nathan barked at his employee, before Elisa stormed into his office. "Mum..." Nathan started to say, but Elisa cut him off with a stinging slap.
"What was that for, Mum?" Nathan yelped, taken aback.
"What happened between you, Mabel, and Alex?" Elisa demanded, her voice fierce.
"Everyone out!" Nathan instructed his workers, who quickly scrambled to leave.
"Mum, what are you talking about?"
"Alex told me everything, so don't even think about denying it! You had an affair with Mabel while she was still engaged to Alexander, and you got her pregnant! What is wrong with you, Nathan? How could you do such a thing?" Elisa thundered.
"Mum, that's not what happened!" Nathan protested, but Elisa cut him off
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me, you bastard! You slept with your brother's wife! Jesus, what have you done? You've betrayed your own family!"
"Mum, please, just listen to me for once!" Nathan pleaded
But before he could continue, Alex burst into the office "What could you possibly have to say for yourself, you bastard?" he growled
"I did it to protect the company and to save you, Alex! Don't you understand?"
But Elisa cut him off"Get to the point, Nathan! No more excuses"
FLASH BACK💥
"Mabel, you've been working on it for three weeks now. Get Alex to get you pregnant, I need those company shares to boost mine," Ezra demanded over the phone.
"I will Dad trust me I promise" Mabel replied before the line went dead.
Nathan who had been listening in"What did I just hear? You're dating Alex for the company shares? What the hell, Mabel?"
"Nathan, I can explain..." Mabel started to say, but Nathan cut her off
"Fuck your explanation, Mabel! How could you do this to Alex? He trusts you!"
"Please, Nathan, I need to save my father's company. Promise me you won't tell Alex about this," she pleaded, her voice trembling.
"I can't keep this from him, Mabel. I'm not going to lie to him for you"
As he turned to leave Mabel grasped his arm, pulling him back. In a desperate attempt to silence him she pressed her lips to his. But Nathan was having none of it. He pushed her away, his face twisted in disgust
"What is this for?" he yelled
"If you tell Alex, I'll tell him that you forced yourself on me,"
"He won't believe you,"
"I've already recorded this conversation," she said, holding up her phone "You'd better do exactly as I say. I'm clear about that. Otherwise, I'll tell him about it, and I'm sure you don't want your brother to hate you, right?"
"You're blackmailing me, Mabel!"
"Call it whatever you like," she shrugged
One week later...
"You aborted the baby!" Nathan yelled
"Oh, you expect me to keep your child? Come on, Nathan, I can't keep your baby never"
"If you knew you couldn't keep it, why did you tell Alex you were pregnant? He was over the moon, and then you go and abort it? How dare you"
"Oh, you expect me to keep the baby? No, I can't and I won't! I'll make another one with Alex, but keeping your child? Never I won't do it!" she yelled
"End things with Alex," Nathan said
"I won't"
"Did you even love him at all?"
"No, I don't."Mabel said

That's why I did what I did, and I don't regret it one bit. Go ahead and shout at me all you like, I don't care," Nathan said, his eyes fixed on Alex.
"So, you're saying Mabel did all that? She only wanted to marry me to gain more shares for her father's company?"
Nathan nodded. "Yes, that's right."
"Why didn't you tell us all this time, for goodness' sake? Nathan, how could you keep this from us?"Elisa said
"I'm sorry Mum Alex I'm sorry too"
"Even though you should have told me about it, Nathan, you really messed up big time, and I still can't forgive you for it. Excuse me," Alex said he turned and walked away.
Elisa let out a deep sigh and sat down on the couch

"Molly, are you sure we're going to win this case?" Sophia asked, noticing Molly's anxious gesture of biting her fingers "Calm down" Sophia advised.
Thomas glanced at Alex and shook his head "I don't think we can win this case"
Alex asked, "Why? What's going on?"
"We don't have enough evidence, and to make matters worse, he never gave her a divorce paper. That means he still has legal rights to claim Jasper and even take Molly back."
"No, I can't let that happen! Alex, what am I going to do? Tomorrow is the last day in court. What can we do?" molly asked, clinging to Alex
"We'll be fine, Molly. We'll figure something out. But for now, we'll just have to hope for a miracle tomorrow"
