Yor's mission

Loid was sitting in the lobby reading newspaper at 1am after putting Anya to sleep waiting for his wife who should have returned from her mission by now. He was growing impatient as the clock ticked.
The lock of the door clicked open and a weary and tired Yor came into sight.Loid was in front of her in a second ,if not then less.
"Are you hurt, asked Loid while he checked her for any injuries simultaneously".
"No I am all good."
"Your arm is bleeding.Sit there,you need to get this treated."
"It is nothing.Did you forget I am the thorn princess."Loid who was already coming back with a first aid kit just shook his head.
I told you to let me come with you and help with the mission.
"You never agree to anything I say", said Loid while disinfecting the wound,blowing on it softly to ease the pain.
"And I told you I can handle this alone.It is my job,I am not very proud of it but it is what it is."
"There is nothing wrong with your job and you are the strongest and most fierce woman I have ever met.But I just want to help you out because I can and you in front of my eyes while you do your job will be healthy for my heart."
Yor's heart melted at that. Whenever her husband confesses his feelings,she can't help but recall all those moments when they struggled to express themselves in front of each other.They had come a long way.
"If you keep on worrying like this,you will get bald soon. It will be newsworthy but I am not sure if Anya would like to take you to her school in that state.Becky will be so embarrassed at her choice,you are her first crush after all",grinned Yor.
"Nice attempt but I can tell when someone tries to change the topic.This is not funny Yor,you are hurt",said Loid while he finally secured the bandage around her wound.
She knew he would not let this topic go easily. She yawned. Loid rolled his eyes very well aware of what she is trying to do.
"Let's get you bed",he said while lifting her off her feet.
"How was Anya's day at school?"
"Good according to her.Little miss has exams coming up in 10 days and did not study for 10 minutes today. She told me how she answered a question correctly during science quiz as if I don't know what she did. I want her to live like a normal and happy teen and not use her powers unnecessarily,we all know what happens when she uses them as she pleases. She really needs to get serious and study".
"I know you will make sure of it",she stated and pecked his cheek at the same time and before she knew she was out like light.
Loid looked at her with so much emotions welling up in his heart.I know you can handle it.It is me who can't handle as much as a thought of you getting hurt while I sit here not knowing what is going on with you. What is the use of all this training if I can't protect you.I apologise in advance but I need to make sure you are okay.He wrapped up his conversation with a sleeping Yor with a forehead kiss.
