(3rd Person)
The days went on with not much happening for Samuel over the weekend. He mainly found himself re-reading his French-styled cookbook or texting Kenna. They had learned a lot about eachother in the past few days. He learned she was an only child, had a new puppy, and liked to dye her hair every time she went in for a salon appointment, and that is why she currently had lustrously silver hair. Kenna had also learned about Samuel, however. He had shared that he had a love for dark greens, that he loved plants, and could cook a lot more than just chicken alfredo. Not only had they been texting, but Kenna had come over to Samuel's apartment twice more since Friday night. She liked the place. It had a cozy and welcoming vibe with lots of plants and cute lighting. Samuel's apartment also happened to be where the two of them were sitting now, sharing the spicy Korean sweet potato chips that Kenna had brought along with her.
It was now Tuesday, and classes had been canceled due to the pouring rain. The forecast had been all over the place, drizzle on Sunday, hot and sunny on Monday, and Tuesday, well it was supposed to be clear that day too, but it had been raining since three o'clock in the morning. Samuel hadn't minded though. He loved the rain. More like he liked being inside while it was raining. His fairy lights on with a warm mug of tea was his favorite way to spend a rainy day. Kenna, on the other hand, did not like the rain. She was a person who constantly liked to do things, whether it was walking outside or playing volleyball with her teammates. She found being stuck inside was boring, not that spending time with Samuel had been boring for her. She appreciated him. Kenna knew she talked a lot, but no one had ever listened to her like Samuel did. His eyes didn't start to glaze over after a few minutes and he seemed to always remember the things that she had told him. For example, he had asked her how "buggy" was doing that morning. Buggy was Kenna's new puppy, and even she would mistake his name for the name of her past dog. But Samuel remembered.
They were on their phones, sometimes talking, but mostly watching TikTok in each other's presence, occasionally sending each other a funny video they scrolled upon. At the same time though, each of their phones made a small "ding." Samuel looked at the Instragam message that he had been sent and tapped it. It was a group message between himself, Kenna, and Peter.
"Guys can we pleaseeeee study tonight for our behavior class test tomorrow? I dont know if it will still happen because of the weather but I can't take any chances." It was the first message in the group chat between the three of us. Of course, Samuel had already told Kenna this might happen the same night he told her about his and Peters's collision. Kenna looked up at him and immediately started talking.
"Oh my god, Samuel, we have to study with him, he is like totally hot. I mean, he's not my type but he has had that conventional attractiveness about him y'know." Kenna said all of this so fast, and before Samuel could even respond, she was already typing that they would love to. Samuel becomes slightly anxious due to this. He did think that Peter was very pretty, and that made him nervous. Interacting with pretty people always made Samuel nervous. Another message came in.
"Perf, where should we meet." Peter texted. Kenna started typing but stopped. She looked up at Samuel again.
"Samuel, what if he comes over here," She squealed. Your room is so cute and you could impress him with your cooking. I will even buy groceries with you. Come on let's study here." Kenna was smiling, and Samuel nodded. He always had a hard time saying no to others, but he knew subconsciously that he wanted Peter to come over to his apartment as much as Kenna did. Kenna and Peter worked out the logistics, but at the end of their conversation, Peter texted, "What about the mystery man himself, it is his apartment." Samuel looked at the message and focused on the nickname Peter gave him. It was only two words and probably meant nothing, but he felt a little warmer than usual, and it wasn't due to drinking his tea. Samuel started to reply, feeling Kenna's eyes on him. He didn't know what to say and when he landed on a simple yes, he thought that wouldn't be good enough of an answer. Samuel became more anxious by the second. Then he was granted relief from Kenna.
