(3rd Person)
It was Friday again, and Samuel knocked on Kenna's door in the west wing of the dorm hall. The plaque next to her door read "McKenna Ahn, 3rd year Resident Assistant." He hadn't realized that she had been an RA. The door opened to a stunningly pretty Kenna, who was wearing a pair of leggings, white sneakers, a crop top, and a small unzipped coat that was dark blue. Looking at her face, she had done her hair in a top bun with two locks of silver hair at either side of her face. Her makeup also accompanied her outfit, with the tops and sides of her eyes glittering in blue. Sparkles and gems had also been applied around her eyes. Samuel thought she looked so breathtaking that he had even forgotten to make a joke about her being an RA. Suddenly, he felt self-conscious that he was underdressed. All he was wearing were semi-casual dress shorts and a Redwood University sweater.
"Woah," Samuel said, his mouth open, "you look great." She smiled.
"It took like forever to get ready, but show off or go home I guess," Kenna said beaming at Samuel, who frowned at this.
"Uh, maybe I should go home and change or-,"
"No," Kenna said immediately, "You look so cute, let's just fix your hair, a little bit and come in." Samuel walked in and was taken aback by her room. While his room was very minimalistic and green, Kenna's room had been packed, from neon lights and signs hanging from the ceiling to pictures and printouts all over the wall from music albums, pop stars, and more things of that nature. Around the room were also small and outdated trinkets, like an early two thousand camera and small Tamagotchis. He loved the way she had set up her room and walked towards the wall to get a better look at all of her posters. Samuel noticed the wide variety of music posters on her wall, ranging from artists such as Iron Maiden, to Børns, and even a poster highlighting an album called Mignonne from 1977.
"Come over here," Samuel heard from behind him and followed the sound of music playing to the bathroom where Kenna stood next to a bar chair. "Sit," she instructed, "I can't reach your head if you don't." Samuel walked over and took a seat in the chair. He had never thought of himself as tall, standing at six feet one inch whenever he wasn't slouching. Looking at Kenna in the mirror, who was examining his hair, he tried to decipher her height. She looked five foot three, maybe four, he didn't know.
"I think your hair just needs a little fluff you know, nothing crazy, it's just looking a little sad and flat." Samuel ran a hand through his hair at these words. Before he was allowed to ruminate on them, however, Kenna took out one of her brushes and a small bottle and got to work. Samuel watched her as she combed out his hair and sprinkled some powder here and there. He wasn't exactly sure what she was putting in his hair, but he trusted her. A few minutes later he heard Kenna exclaim "All done!" Samuel got up and turned to face her.
"Is it okay," he asked tentatively.
"Okay? It's super cute. I wonder if Peter will say anything." She had said it almost as if the words had no meaning to them, not even looking at Samuel, who was now red in the face.
"I, what," Samuel breathed. "Kenna he's too good for me," she raised an eyebrow at this. Samuel continued quickly, "Plus he is straight, we know this, he just had a girlfriend." Samuel was flustered just from what Kenna had said. She just signed, "I guess," was all she said. It was cold that evening as they started walking to the stadium. On their walk, Kenna had linked her arm to Samuel's, something which made him feel safe and content. Samuel had also learned more about Redwood University happenings from Kenna.
"I'm so excited for the game," she said drawing out the "o." "It's against Stanford as well so it should be a good one too."
"But aren't more people excited about the football game tomorrow," Samuel asked confused.
