Calliope

After a few minutes by myself, my mother reenters the tent. "Are you ready?" she asks excitedly.

"Yep! I just need to grab my bouquet really quick," I start, but Mother beats me to it, racing to grab the flowers for me.

"Thank you," I laugh as I grab the collection of white roses, baby's breath, and other pale flowers I couldn't name.

"Well, this is it," I sigh as I grab my mother's arm, encouraging her to start walking me towards the isle.

"This is it," she agrees as we start making our way out of the tent.

When the music starts, my mother slowly guides me along the walkway to the wedding altar. I look around the meadow, not just at the lush scenery, but also the hundreds of people sitting here to watch me and Aias's communion. It's both thrilling and nerve wrenching at the same time. I take a deep breath and look straight ahead at the groom.

When I see him standing and waiting for me on the bower, my breath hitches. He has short light brown hair and golden tan skin that glowed in the sun. I see his fit figure as his clothes cling to his skin in some places. His fabulous blue eyes meet my green ones, and I realize that he is the handsome man I ran into at the shop. Based on his stunned expression, he has just come to the same conclusion.

When I finally reach the wedding arbour, I gently uncling my self from my mother's arm, and step up beside my soon to be husband. I pass my beautiful arrangement of flowers to Marceli, who in return shoots me a wink. Next to my maid of honor is another girl who I have never seen before. She looks about a year younger than I am, and a lot like Iason and Aias, so I conclude that she is his younger sister, Thyme. I hope that maybe we could grow to be friends, and she could help me get used to the new way of life I will soon be experiencing.

The ceremony goes on and at last, we say our vows. I can't help but smile when I look out and see all of the smiling cheering faces who are rooting for me. We leave the altar and I follow my husband through a maze of people, holding onto his hand so I don't get swept away. In between us dodging some people and greeting some others, we try to start conversations.

We end up talking to each other on the outer edge of the guest, which I didn't mind, and based on his composure, Aias didn't either. "So, you're the guy I saw at the shop?" I ask choking down my laugh.

"Funny how we both procrastinate enough to leave no other option but going shopping mere hours before our wedding," he replies with a twinkle in his eyes.

"There you are!" comes a voice followed by five people.

"Hello mother," Aias says mocking a bored tone.

"Hello," I greet sweetly.

She meets my shaft gaze with her warm one and says "Aias, are you not going to introduce your wife to your family?"

"Right, of coarse!" he says with a grin, "This is my mother Europa, my father Iason, my eldest brother Nikolaos, Nik for short, my second eldest brother Cadmus, and my little sister Thyme."

With every introduction he made, I gave a nod and a smile. "It's lovely to meet you all! I hope we will know each other well soon!" I say hopefully. After chatting a bit, they wander off to entertain some of the many guests who still lingered.

That's when I saw my mother and Marceli. "Oh, now you must meet my family!" I exclaim as I drag Aias towards them.

"Calliope, Aias!" Mother announces as she takes Marceli's arm and walks to meet us.
