One-and-two and three-and-four and five-six-seven-eight!
And one-and-two and three-and-four and five-six-seven-eight!
Her hair resembled silky ribbons as it flowed through the air, and a moment later Y/N would have landed her flip perfectly, if her teammates hadn't let her flop onto the ground. The pretty girl rubbed her head as she stood up, looking visibly annoyed.
This is the eighth fucking time they missed!
She thought in her head. The girl could never actually say this out loud because she loved her teammates, but enough was enough. Luckily, her coach seemed to be on the same wavelength.
"Y/N, lets talk outside" said the coach, and so the two exited the gym.
"I need you to find new bases. I know this sounds like a big deal, but as team captain you've recruited enough people to know what you're looking for. The competition is in two weeks so you need to work fast. I'm counting on you!" The coach patted her on the back, dismissed practice, and then headed her way home.
Wait, what?!
Find new bases? Even though the competition was only in two weeks? Was this woman crazy? Well, Y/N knew her coach better than anyone else, and she knew that this woman was in fact crazy. And just like that, Y/N found herself trying to find two new bases. First, she tried going to the high school near her gym, only to find out they would be competing against her team. Y/N walked around another four high schools in her area until she finally gave up. This was stupid! Y/N sat down on a bench and sighed started to walk home until someone bumped into her. It was a group of around 7-8 guys, and they all looked like they were up to no good. She recognized one of their tattoos: they were the new gang forming in town, and they had vandalized shops and hurt their owners. Y/N tried to walk away until one of them grabbed her arm. She tried to wriggle out of his grip but to no avail. The three more men walked up to her, one grabbing her thigh and two others started playing with her hair. The rest of the group recorded and laughed. Y/N felt goosebumps rise up her arms, she felt embarrassed and sick to her stomach until the four guys suddenly let go of her. In a blink of an eye she found herself behind a behind two Furin boys. One had red hair and an earring while the other had black and white hair. The girl fell to her knees as her nervous body had finally let out. She felt so relieved a fee tears even poured out her eyes. The two boys fought well and with style. The red haired boy moved as if he were dancing, swiftly dodging any attack coming at him and countering with twice the strength. The boy with black and white hair also fought well, leaping high into the air and kicking the enemies away. The two were a dynamic duo, one moving with blasts of energy and the other moving with maximum efficiency. Y/N noticed herself admiring their flexibility as well, maybe it was her inner cheer coach coming out. After a few minutes, the gang had fled and the two boys headed towards you.
"Are you okay?" The red head asked with a smile, reaching his hand out.
"Yeah, thank you so much for saving me!" Y/N replied, taking his hand and standing up.
Wait a minute. This was it! This is exactly what Y/N needed. Although being a base technically only required lifting, ever since Y/N and her team would be performing a cheer routine the bases obviously had to know how to do other tricks.
Y/N remembered a poster she saw previously that stated "If you need help, ask Furin Highschool!" Even though Y/N felt bad to ask these boys for another favor, she knew she had to at least try.
"What are your names?" she inquired.
"Sakura." replied the boy with black and white hair, and Y/N noticed he also had very pretty eyes.
"Suo!" replied the red head, and Y/N noticed that he had an eyepatch. How flashy.
"I saw a poster that said Furin Highschool would help anyone in need. Could I please ask you guys a favor?" Y/N asked. She knew her request was about to be a real pain in the ass but she was desperate.
"Sure, why not?" replied Suo. Sakura also seemed curious, but he didn't say anything. He simply looked at the girl, implying for her to continue.
Y/N's face lit up, and she filled the two in on the details. The two boys could tell she was passionate about cheerleading, and they also found her pretty cute, so they agreed to help out.
One-and-two and three-and-four and five-six-seven-eight!
And one-and-two and three-and-four and five-six-seven-eight!
Her hair resembled silky ribbons as it flowed through the air, and a moment later Y/N landed her flip perfectly. The two boys caught her and lifted her up again for the next stunt.
"You boys are naturals! How about joining the team?" The coach said, half-joking.
"Nah. I can't, I've got to conquer Furin!" replied Sakura, an odd blush forming around his face. The rest of the team giggled as practice continued on that day. A week and a half later, it was the night before the competition. The three became good friends, and they were at Cafe Pothos for dinner.
"You guys nervous?" Y/N asked with mouthful of omurice.
"No way!" replied Sakura, also with a mouth full of omurice. Suo smiled and nodded, he wasn't nervous either. The two boys were naturally good at cheer, of course they wouldn't be nervous. Although Sakura struggled to learn the choreography at first, he managed to get it down thanks to Suo's help. The two boys walked Y/N home, and the girl crashed to bed immediately after.
The competition had a vibrant yet chaotic energy. Many groups were stretching, doing makeup, or practicing their routine. Y/N's team, Muse, (haha love live reference) was no different. The two boys stared at Y/N after she changed into uniform: a pink and green top with a short skort under. A typical cheer uniform, but she pulled it off very well.
"What are you guys looking at? Let's practice one more time!" Y/N said assertively.
The two boys nodded and the team did their routine, except Sakura kept missing the count where he was supposed to do a cartwheel into a flip. This part was crucial as it would get him from one end of the stage to the next, putting him into place for Y/N's stunt that was the key to win the judges over.
"Sakura, I thought you weren't nervous!" said the girl.
"Shut up!" replied Sakura, clearly frustrated. Suo was about to say something until the judges called your team's number and it was time for you to go on. The whole team also seemed nervous, but the show must go on. Everyone took their place and the music started. Everything was going smoothly, and before you knew it; it was time. Your eyes went to Sakura who was frozen in place.
He's going to miss his count! is what you thought until he pulled through! He did a cartwheel into a double-back flip!
What an attention whore! you giggled to yourself. The two boys lifted you up and you flipped into the air. Once caught, you lifted your leg up and balanced gracefully thanks to their support, and you flipped once again but this time landing perfectly onto the ground. From there you did an aerial (cartwheel with no hands) and a back handspring while the rest of your team synchronized to a dance routine in the back. You guys did great! You smiled as you exited the stage, and waited for your results. After the final group performed, everyone went back onto the stage.
And the winner is....
You nervously held your breath. The three of you held hands as you awaited the results.
Muse! You jumped up with joy and cheered with the rest of your team. You guys did it! You were so happy that you ended up kissing Sakura and Suo on the cheeks, leaving them as red as Hajime's tomatoes.
