Suddenly, a bullet hit the back windshield of the truck. Cath fired back at the attackers. Two shots later, the truck swerved into the sand beside the road. Steve slowed the truck to a stop. He and Cath jumped out and drew their guns. They walked toward the wrecked truck cautiously. The people inside were all dead. Suddenly, a blue car and a black car pulled over behind the truck. A familiar voice called, "Here for only 30 minutes and already ran into trouble?" It was Chin Ho Kelly. "Yeah boss, what's the deal with that?" Kono said, climbing out of the passenger side of the blue car. "Trouble follows you, you neanderthal animal," Danny said as he climbed out of the black car. "He can't help it now, Danny, give him a break," Grover said. "Hey Danno, come here," Grace said from the backseat of the black car. "What is it monkey?" Danny answered. "I here a ticking noise over here. Do you here it?" Grace said. A sudden panicked look flashed across Danny's face. "Everyone get in the car now and get out of here as fast as possible!" Danny said. Everyone ran to get in their vehicles. Steve and Cath hopped in and were the last to drive away. A split second after they were gone, the truck exploded and burst into flames. They all took an exit road and parked at a gas station. Danny explained that they had Grace to thank for saving their lives and then Steve gave them the address of the Rollins' ranch. They parted ways and Steve and Cath rode to the police department. They picked up Mrs. Rollins and Nikki. Steve and Cath climbed into the backseat and Mrs. Rollins got into the drivers seat. When Steve got buckled up, he looked over at Nikki, who's seat was between him and Cath. It almost brought tears to his eyes. A minute later, the truck turned onto a dirt road. They rode over a cattle grate, which woke Nikki up. When she woke up, she looked straight into Steve's eyes. He gently touched her small fingers. After a moment, she wrapped her small hand around his finger. She smiled her adorable smile and Steve thought he was going to melt. Nikki began to giggle. Steve smiled. The whole time, he hadn't realized it but Cath was just watching with tears forming in her eyes. "See, I told you you'd make an amazing father," she said and grabbed Steve's hand. Meanwhile, the rest of the team was trying to figure out an explanation for what had happened earlier. "They're completely unidentified," Kono said. "Yeah I mean who would want to hurt Steve and Cath?" Danny said. "Who knows, but they're gone now, so let's just enjoy the week off," Grover said. "Yeah, Grover's right. We have no jurisdiction here, so even if we did find out something, we couldn't do anything," Chin said. "Alright well, first thing we need to do is go to the Rollins ranch and meet the baby. After all, that is what we came here to do," Danny said. Danny, Kono, Chin, Grover, and Grace loaded into the rental SUV and rode toward the ranch.
