4) Forbidden Love - Lestat

1764, Paris

You and Lestat had been in a secret relationship for around 2 months now, you know of his vampiric secrets and you didn't care, if anything, it kind of made him more attractive. You began to imagine life as a vampire, living eternally with your true love.

However, you couldn't. You couldn't even be with him in this temporary life because of your father. He was a hard headed businessman who seemed to only care about money and reputation. He wanted you to marry one of the noblemen's sons so when he discovered yours and Lestat's love, he simply refused to allow it. He even tried to stop you from seeing him but luckily, Lestat manages to sneak into your room at night and leave unnoticed. You dread to think what would happen if he found out of your secret meetings against his word.

Sometimes, when your father gets overly drunk at the local tavern, you go with him but when he's too drunk to notice that you're there, you sneak out and meet Lestat next to the river and you both lay on a patch of grass, you on his chest, watching the stars and counting them, wishing that you could do this freely and not in secret. You loved Lestat and dreamed of spending forever with him, he brought you the happiness that no nobleman's son could.

On this one night in particular, you were both sat on the river back, you embraced within his cradled arms and your hand reaching his blonde crimped curls, twirling some around your fingers.

"Lestat?" You say to him.

"Yes, my love?"

"I don't want to be restricted to secrecy anymore, I want to live happily in love forever with you. I want to be given away to the man I truly love and admire not some random noblemen's son, who can never be as kind and loving as you" you say with a croaky voice as a tear falls down your face.

Lestat sat up quickly and pulled your face softly in his hands as he wiped your tears. "Don't cry my darling, everything will work out all okay I promise, you have my word, dear"

You nod but struggle to believe it. Your father would never accept of this relationship, especially if he discovered that Lestat was a creature of the night.

You cry into his chest as he strokes your hair and shushes and coos at you to calm your heavy breathing. You hold some of his hair and curl it around your fingers, it helps you calm down somehow. You sit up straight and face him once you were fully calm.

"Lestat, let's just run away together, we don't need anyone except for each other. We can travel to another country." Your eyes brighten as if you had an excellent idea. "I have always dreamed of going to New Orleans in America, my grandfather used to work there and he'd always tell me stories of his adventures there" you raise your eyebrows, waiting for a response.

Lestat stares at you for a second and pushes some of your long dainty curls out of your face and smiles.

"Are you sure that's what you want my love?"

"More than anything, as long as you promise to stay by my side and never leave me as I will promise the same for you"

He chuckles and looks into your eyes.

"Okay, if that is your wish, I shall put the plans in order and off to New Orleans we shall go" he smiles widely.

You smile brighter than ever before and practically leap into his arms. You pepper his face with kisses as he smiles and laughs.

"Y/n- I- Y/n enough kisses my darling" he chuckles.

"I can't help it I just love you too much" you smile and place one last kiss on his nose and Lestat closes his eyes and smiles back.

"I should go and organise the trip before the sun comes out, okay my dear? So you go to bed, get a long sleep and then tomorrow night on the boat you can rest for as long as you wish"

"Okay, goodnight Lestat"

"Goodnight Mon Cheri" he holds your hands and kisses your forehead softly as you return to the tavern up the bank. For the rest of the night and all day the next day, you struggle to contain your excitement about leaving to live a happy life with Lestat.
