"damn, what you cooking up in here?" Keith licked his lips coming into the kitchen.

"nothing for you, this is for riel's gender reveal! So don't touch na thing!" i spat smacking his hand as he tried to grab the serving spoon.

"mtch, you ain't gone be hitting me all the damn time woman!" he mugged rubbing the spot where I'd hit him at.

"tuh, keith get out my damn kitchen." I pointed to the door, he scoffed mumbling under his breath.

I shake my head and turn back around to finish cooking, i had less than three hours to prepare and put the final touches on the decorations and get myself ready. "Na-na!" Jrue & Mari happily clapped, running toward the door as i followed them.

I unlocked the door, opening it to reveal Tasha at the door. "hi, nana babies!" tasha coo'd hugging the boys.

We greeted each other with a hug and kiss on the cheek before we walked into the kitchen.

"you look beautiful, team girl?" i sarcastically questioned, she laughed.

"We got too many boys in the family already, so yes." She happily pouted adjusting her pink balenciaga button down.

"you right, you right." I chuckle walking to the backyard where Keith, Jasir and the rest of the family was helping set up.

"I see some things haven't changed..." Tasha side eyed me with a slick smirk on her face.

"girl, whatever." i wave her off taking a seat across from her.

"have y'all told the twins yet?" Tasha questioned, making me shake my head.

"no, but keith almost let it slip at the wedding." i sigh looking at the twins as they blew up the pool floats for the kids.

"mm, i think it's time to tell them kash." she sighed, calling me by my nickname.

I cut my eyes at her, "i will..when the timing is right." i huff.

"when? y'all waited 11 years to tell them the fucking truth, the longer you wait the more hurt they will be knowing that their real mother was underneath their noses the entire time & they had no idea."

"i can't just spring it on them like that, they'll have questions i won't be able to answer." i sigh holding back my tears.

"won't, or don't want to?" she folded her arms sitting back in her chair, i exhale a deep breath.

"you're right." i admit.

"I know i am. have the conversation with them." she cleared her throat getting up as the twins walked over to us.

I mentally rolled my eyes exhaling a deep breath. "hey, mama tasha" khamryn waved, hugging tasha.

she greeted both of them before excusing herself to go inside. "TT, do you have the other charger for the pump? It's almost out of juice." riri asked sitting across from me.

"it should be in the garage, I'll have your dad get it. i have to tell you guys something..." I chewed the inside of my cheek, khamryn sat down beside her sister as they waited for me.

"Um, 23 years ago when i was 16 years old, i gave birth to two beautiful twin girls, whom I've had the privilege to watch grow up into amazing, resilient, and responsible young women that are sitting before me. I know i should've told you girls sooner, but i couldn't bring myself to do it when you guys turned 18, i wasn't ready for the questions about your father and how this happened." i confessed, looking into their eyes as tears brimmed my own.

"wait, are you telling us that your our biological mother?" ryn sniffled wiping her tears.

"y-yes, i am." i exhaled through tears.

i looked up at them, khamryn had a huge smile on her face. "i knew it, i knew we couldn't have been related to that deadbeat who left us."

Khamyri sat across from me, stunned. "so that's what dad was telling me at my wedding. is he even our real father?" she straight faced me with an unreadable expression on her face.

"He is." i nod.

Just then Keith walks over to the table, "when were you going to tell us that Krystal was our real mother?" Khamyri blurted out, batting her lashes.

"you told them everything?" he darted his eyes at me, "not everything. i was waiting for you to come over." i informed, he nods and sits beside me.

"me and Krystal, your mother, fell in love at a very young age, we didn't know what we were doing. Our parents found out, they sent krystal away to another state & my parents told me to enlist in the army, so i did." keith exhaled in one breath.

"When your father came home, i had already had you girls. My parents and my grandmother made me sign away my parental rights since i was young, and my grandmother raised you until she passed away when you guys were 7 years old, my parents introduced me to your as your aunt. they called Keith and told him everything. He came back home and next thing i know they were married and raising you girls."

"why, wait 23 years to tell us, why didn't you tell us when we were younger?" khamryn knitted her brows.

"we thought it would be confusing for you guys to wrap your head around everything." i admitted.

"you thought right..i need a minute to process everything. excuse me." khamyri rolled her eyes, getting up from her chair and walked into the house.

"I should go talk to her-let me." i cut ryn off, sliding my chair back and i walk into the house.

I walk upstairs to khamyri's old room, knocking on the door as i waited for her to open it. "kham, baby?" i sighed hearing sniffling from the other side of the door and it broke my heart.

"go away!" she sobbed loudly, i slid down the door and sat outside til she was ready to talk.
