Nobody at the table could believe their ears at what Heather M said next.

"Well, at least I don't like Missy's brother," Heather M said, leaning back slightly into her chair as she crossed her arms. (Y/N) froze. The first person that came to mind was Sheldon. Lunch was almost over, (Y/N) felt like she didn't have time for this. So she stood up, walked over to Heather M, and punched her square in the face.

"(Y/N) (L/N), what do you have to say for yourself?!" (Y/N)'s mother yelled into her ear. (Y/N) sighed, looking around the principal's office for anything other than this topic to focus on. She couldn't think of a reasonable answer. Obviously, she couldn't tell her own mother this was, kinda, about some boy. Her only other option was to make up another excuse. Principal Petersen stared at her, causing her to uncomfortably shift in her chair. "Well?" Her mother questioned her again, beckoning for her to say something. "Sorry, she pissed me off." (Y/N) shrugged nonchalantly as she didn't hesitate to stare right back at the principal. (Y/N)'s mother scoffed, standing up from her seat as she looked down at Petersen. "What's her punishment?" Her mother asked, grabbing her unnecessarily large purse from the carpeted floor next to her chair. Principal Petersen took his gaze off of (Y/N), giving it to her mom. "One week of suspension," He said, sighing as he eyed (Y/N). Her mother's eyes widened, looking back at (Y/N). Sighing, she struggled with her keys, shoving them into her purse as she began to walk towards the door. "Wait, who's gonna drive me home?" (Y/N) asked, turning around sheepishly in her chair as her face fell slightly. Her mom chuckled, turning around as she held her gaze. "You can figure that out yourself." And without another word, she twisted the knob, opening the door as she walked out, her heels clicking loudly against the tile. "Shit," (Y/N) said under her breath, turning back Principal Petersen's way. (Y/N) awkwardly smiled as she raised a brow, suggesting the idea if Petersen would drive her home. "No." He replied sternly.

As she walked out of the principal's office, (Y/N) sighed as she struggled to come up with a plan on how to get herself home. She gripped her handle on her backpack as she looked to her right, as all she saw was a long, long hallway. It was after school, so (Y/N) couldn't think of anyone. Until she saw someone walking in that very hallway. Her eyes widened.

It was Sheldon, walking with... some girl? (Y/N)'s heart seemed to ache, and she couldn't pin point why. Her breath hitched, as she realized she'd been standing there this whole time, Sheldon and this girl coming closer, and closer. Sheldon looked up, his face falling confused as he noticed (Y/N), standing in front of the office door as she stared into the abyss. He sped up his pace as he left the girl he'd been tutoring behind. "(Y/N)? Why are you here after school?" He asked, his brows furrowing as she shook her head, coming back to reality.

(Y/N) blushed slightly as the first thing she met eyes with was the face of a confused Sheldon.        "Oh," (Y/N) began, the tight grip on her bag loosening. "I... had a talk with the principal and my mom." She meekly said, her eyes dancing around the school, purposely avoiding Sheldon's face. "Why?" He asked, turning as he started to walk towards the entrance doors of the school. (Y/N) sighed, pushing the doors open as he did, too. "I punched Heather M in the face at lunch today." (Y/N) said, as if it was nothing. Sheldon's face fell, a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks at the thought. He glanced at the girl next to him, her hand caressing her other one, probably the one she hit Heather M with. "Why?" Sheldon asked, raising a brow. (Y/N) shrugged, her lips forming a slight pout. "She..." She tried to continue her sentence, until she halted, as she'd realized she didn't even have a clue where they were going. "Wait, where are we going?" She asked, turning her head his way slightly as her eyes were still on the way ahead of them. Sheldon scrunched his brows. "I thought we were walking to your house, I was going along with you," He replied, before he glanced away once more. "But, I'm now coming to the realization that you were with your mother in the principal's office... so why would she not offer to drive you to your residence that you share anyway?" His question roamed through (Y/N)'s head, because she had the same thing to ask. "Dunno, I assume she's pissed at me for getting a week of suspension." (Y/N) stated, shrugging. Sheldon furrowed his brows, processing her reply. "First of all, language. Second, one week?!" He said, slightly raising his voice.

"To be honest, I don't even wanna go back." (Y/N) said, looking away from Sheldon. Sheldon didn't take that lightly. "What are you inferring? You don't want to go back home? Where do you plan on staying?" He asked. Honestly, (Y/N) couldn't give him a good answer. "I don't wanna go back home 'cause my mom will just yell at me constantly. And I'm not sure where I'd stay." She said, turning her head his way. Sheldon could clearly see the slight tears pricking against the top of her eyelids as she struggled to keep herself contained. It took him a minute to think of something to say. Nobody could expect Sheldon to know what to say to someone crying in front of him. "Would you like a hot beverage?" He offered, avoiding her gaze. (Y/N) looked confused, before she accepted. "Sure, but, where would we get one?" She asked, looking down as she saw her shoes walking next to his. It made her smile. "I suppose we could go to my house." He said, looking away to attempt to hide the small blush on his face. (Y/N) nodded, that same smile on her face as her cheeks dusted a faint pink.

"Why are you smiling?" Sheldon questioned, raising his brow. (Y/N) chuckled lightly, looking away knowing he'd caught her. "No reason," She said, shoving her hands in her pockets.                  "OK. So, where are you going to stay?" Sheldon asked as they were nearing his neighborhood.

"Uh, actually, I was hoping that I could..." (Y/N) began, her breath hitched as she spoke. "Stay at your place for a bit." She awkwardly smiled.
