4 - Lucky Shot
ReignIt was 10:30pm and I was sat at my desk trying my best to finish the first paragraph of my assignment. I had been stuck on the same line for the last 30 minutes, reading the same thing over and over again, but I just couldn't focus over the loud music, voices, and laughter coming from across the hall.
After my 5th attempt of trying to make sense of what I had just read, I angrily threw down my pen and stormed out the room- heading toward the noise.
I clenched my jaw as I knocked hard on the door and waited. Not long after, it was pulled open by a drunk, short, mixed guy with braids.
A creepy smile crept on his face "Wassup Sexc you here to join the party?" I frowned in disgust. "Eww no. Excuse me" I pushed past him and scanned the room looking for the person who the room belonged to.
"Hey! You Lucky right? This is your room?" I asked when I finally found him. "Yeah you looking for me pretty?" He grinned flashing his pearly white smile as he leaned against the door frame scanning me up and down.
"My rooms across from here and I've been trying to study for like the last 5 hours but I can't because you and your dumb friends decided to have a party on random Tuesday-
"Who she calling dumb?" The same guy from earlier interrupted but Lucky waved him off and reached for my hand "Come here real quick." I quickly shook my head, no "I don't wanna talk to you. All you need to do is turn off the music and tell them they need to leave."
"Okay." He agreed with no objections -to my surprise. "Thank you" I spun on my heels to leave, until I felt him grab my arm. "I'll turn off the music AND get everybody to leave only if you agree to come to the game on Friday."
"What? No this isn't no negotiation." I laughed. Who did he think he was? I was the Reign King and always got whatever I wanted.
"Alright then good luck studying through the music." He smirked and held the door open for me to leave. I flipped him off and went back into my room.
After another 20 minutes of insufferable noise I had no choice but to return to Luckys room.
"Changed your mind about joining us?" He asked with a smug look on his face. "No, but I got an assignment due tomorrow morning and I really need to pass his class, so I'll go to your stupid game if you shut this down right now." I stated.
"I got you pretty." He winked "HEY!" Lucky yelled and his deep voice echoed loudly through the room.
There was something about the way he commanded everyone's attention and got everybody listening which had me staring hard, analysing his every feature. He was at least 6'5 tall and had the body of professional athlete. The cuffs of his shirt sat tightly around his bench muscled arms. His hair was neatly braided and he a had a fresh line up to go with it.
I watched closely as he stood up on the couch and spoke. "Y'all gotta go. Get out of here." His thick southern accent became clearer.
"Nigga what?" Someone yelled over the music which was still playing in the background.
"You heard me. Party's over everybody get the fuck out" Lucky instructed and almost immediately everyone started to gather their shit to leave, some left silently while others were mumbling about how Lucky ruined their night.
"Thank you."
"See you on Friday pretty." He grinned and I felt him watching me as I left.

•I shuffled through the bleachers trying to get a seat at the back. I honestly had no interest in sport and didn't want to be here but if there was one thing about us Kings it's that we stuck to our word.
