Jimin stood watch over the female, never straying from her side. Each day. He only left when Aleyna tended to her wounds and changed the bandages. The stranger, her hair a striking shade of copper, remained in a deep slumber that had persisted for three days without any signs of waking. The tigress observed that the female had narrowly escaped death by sheer luck, as the arrows had come dangerously close to her heart, a mere breath away from being fatal. The lingering effects of the wolfsbane complicated her recovery, requiring careful and prolonged efforts to cleanse her body of its poison thoroughly.
Gently, Jimin used a warm towel to wipe the female's face and neck, aiding her body in expelling the toxic remnants. A bandage wrapped around her head indicated a likely injury sustained during her fall. Aleyna warned Jimin from touching the bandage, stressing the importance of preventing further harm or infection.
"What were you doing so close to the palace's walls?" He whispered softly as he wiped her arms clean, noting the pallor of her skin as a stark reminder that the poison still lingered within her. The tingling sensation that coursed through him when he touched her bare skin stirred a sense of familiarity, it made him wonder if she could be one of his pack. Maybe that's why his body had reacted to her. As a halfbreed, she or one of her parents may have belonged to either his Fenryr pack or the allied Glowstone pack.
In the world of humans, the Fenryr and Glowstone packs were known allies with a history of cooperation and friendship. The idea that this female could be connected to him was not far-fetched. Knowing that survivors existed, Jimin harbored hope that she might be a member of his own pack. King Damon's wrath had been directed at the royal families and purebreds only, sparing the mixed-blood wolves.
Across the realms, wolves, fairies, and humans had intertwined their destinies, forming a bond that transcended fear and embraced curiosity. The coexistence of these three beings was marked by a shared world where relationships bloomed and thrived. Half-breeds weren't unusual. Despite being stronger and larger than humans, wolves and fae possessed a remarkably similar physique. Except for a few details, like wolf's ears or tail, and the sharp nails and canines. Fae mostly harbored wings and pointy ears.
"Hey, don't you think it's about time you take a breather?" Jungkook's voice, filled with concern and care, resonated through the room as he leaned casually against the door frame, his gaze fixed on Jimin. "You should hit the sack; I'll keep an eye on her for now," he suggested, a hint of urgency in his tone.
Jimin's movements were deliberate as he continued to rinse the towel in the bowl of water, the sound of droplets echoing in the quiet room. His tousled golden-brown hair cascaded over his shoulders as he lifted his head to meet Jungkook's gaze. A soft smile played on his lips as he shook his head gently. "I appreciate it, but I'm good," he said, determination shining in his eyes. "I'm sticking around on the couch next to her. I can't miss the moment she wakes up - there are so many burning questions she needs to tackle, and I want to be right here when she's ready."
"Don't strain yourself; you haven't slept for three days. You'll pass out before you get the chance to talk to her." Jungkook said before closing the door. Jimin's gaze lingered on the closed door for a moment, his thoughts a tumultuous storm raging within him. He found himself unable to silence the relentless whirlwind of thoughts racing through his head.
His attention was wholly captured by the female resting on his bed, her presence filling the room with an intoxicating scent of cinnamon. The aroma enveloped him, a bittersweet torment that both soothed and agitated his senses. The memory of her three days ago, when her scent had held a fiercer edge, more spicier, flashed through his mind, leaving a lingering imprint of longing.
With a sigh of relief, he acknowledged the absence of that overwhelming spiciness, he was grateful for the sweet lingering note. The mere thought of being in such close proximity to her was a dangerous temptation. He knew he must resist the urge of wanting to touch her, taste her, claim her. He wanted to become one. The forbidden desires that threatened to consume him were overwhelming.
