(Art by me. Coloring this would be my nightmare... so I'm not gonna do that!)
_______________________________________(Y/n) could hardly think as he rushed through the woods, panic nearly making him forget the path back to town.
Every fiber of his being was telling him to run for his fucking life.
The longer he ran, the more he worried he'd taken a wrong turn somewhere. The woods had always been a fairly confusing place. Everything looked the same, and the lack of footsteps behind him was almost concerning...
Euphoric relief washed over him when he finally caught sight of the bridge leading into town.
(Y/n) caught himself on the railing, just trying to breathe after such an intense escape. A (e/c) gaze immediately turned back to the woods. Had he managed to outrun whatever that thing was?
...
The treeline appeared to be barren of the abomination, and (Y/n) found himself sighing in relief. Perhaps it had merely been a hallucination from all his stress and anxiety.
"AH!"
Something impossibly cold grabbed hold of (Y/n) and spun him around. The young man nearly fainted as he came face-to-face with the very thing he had tried so hard to escape from.
"You may kiss the groom."
His single eye closed as he invaded (Y/n)'s space, very obviously coming in for a kiss. (Y/n) looked on in panic; unable to move away with that unrelenting grip clamped over his arm.
The (h/c) man found himself slipping from conciseness as cold, pale lips pressed against his own.
_______________________________________The emerald eyes staring back at John looked so dull and lifeless in the vanity mirror as he patiently combed his hair. He couldn't believe just how awful that rehearsal had been...
When he first learned that he'd be marrying (Y/n) to save himself and his mother from going to the poorhouse, he had thrown a bit of a tantrum.
(Y/n) was... well, his best friend! He never considered that they could be something more; that (Y/n) would want to be something more.
Even now, John still couldn't tell if (Y/n) really wanted to marry him... but John wanted to marry (Y/n).
The blonde had never met anyone else quite like (Y/n). All the other people in his life were so... prude. They only cared about their wealth and status, things John didn't pay much attention to himself.
(Y/n) was so full of life compared to them.
There wasn't a single soul in town that John would choose over him. Deep in his heart, he prayed that (Y/n) felt the same.
The young man jolted as his bedroom door slammed open, his mother scowling in the doorway.
"That good-for-nothing boy has run off with a paramour!"
_______________________________________(Y/n) groggily blinked himself awake.
Strangely, he couldn't remember falling asleep... but the surface beneath him was much too hard to be the forest floor. Just what had happened?
"He's waking up!"
A shrill voice brought him to full conciseness, and the blood in (Y/n)'s viens froze when (e/c) pools met a one-eyed gaze.
The abomination wasn't alone; surrounded by many more beings like it.
From skeletons to what looked like rotting corpses, (Y/n) found himself in what could only be described as a bar for the undead. The (h/c) felt like he was about to scream.
"He must have fainted. Are you alright?"
His pale face barely held any emotion. Even his pale-blue eye lacked sympathy.
"Th-This... this isn't happening..."
(Y/n) could feel the panic attack building up in his chest, his heart palpitating under all the unwanted attention he was receiving from these undead abominations.
"I-It's not ha-happening!"
A pale hand reached for him and he backpedaled into the bar behind him. The dark haired abomination's face shifted ever so slightly, a brief flash of pain flickering into his eye.
"Darling... why are you afraid of me?"
The (h/c) flinched as he reached for him once again. His hand was unbearably cold when it gently cupped (Y/n)'s cheek.
"You shouldn't fear your husband."
