Erza brought a triumphant victory to Fairy Tail on the third day. In the competition, Pandemonium, Erza managed to defeat all one hundred monsters by herself. This was to be expected of the S-Class mage. Ever since she joined the guild, Erza had always been strict and she never let her guard down. Those were skills that were an advantage to her in battle. She has never lost a fight. Not even once. No matter how many times she falls or how injured she is, she will continue to get up and fight. She has a goal that she has yet to achieve and she will fight her way past any obstacle in order to reach the finish line.
Jellal was outside of the arena when he heard the cheers and screams. The announcer, Chapati, called Erza "The Terrifying Titania". The Heavenly Body Mage smiled to himself, knowing Erza's true power. Defeating one hundred monsters was a piece of cake for her. She had the heart and mind of a warrior. She's always so strong, he thought. He continued to think that same thought as the Games reached it's climax. Erza's fight with Kagura and Minerva showed just how powerful she was. When even her Adamantine Armor failed against Kagura's Archenemy and having to go so far as to use her Nakagami Armor against Minerva, it showed that no matter how powerful the enemy is Erza won't give up.
Erza wouldn't admit it, but she doesn't mind having help. She will always say that she can handle things on her own. Even when she had a broken foot during the Dragon attack, she told everyone she was fine. Well, she wasn't fine. But only one person knew the truth. Jellal. He knew that Erza wasn't fine like she said she was. That's why he came to rescue her from being blown up by the miniature dragons. Like a knight in shining armor rescuing his princess.
A week after the Dragon attack, Jellal and Meredy walked down a path, Meredy quietly sobbing over the lost of their friend Ultear. Jellal insisted on taking a break so the Sensory Link Mage sat quietly on a large rock. Jellal wandered off, promising to be back in ten minutes. There was a town nearby and he was in need of some food. He found a small shop and decided to get two sandwiches, one for him and one for Meredy. It was an easy meal and it could be taken on-the-go. Wanting to save on jewels, he paid for the cheapest, most decent-looking sandwiches. As he was leaving the shop, he bumped into a woman. The same woman he bumped in to during the Grand Magic Game.
Before he could apologize, the woman spoke instead. "Sorry." She was quick with her apology. Jellal stared at the woman, puzzled. He felt like he had seen her from somewhere or like he knew her. "I'm Rachael. Rachael Spar." She said, holding out her hand for a greeting. He took her hand in his, shaking it. "Uh, hi. I'm Jellal. Jellal Fernandes." He replied politely, giving her a fake smile. He honestly just wanted to leave. He didn't care about knowing this girl's name because he was probably never going to see her again. Plus, he had a task at hand. He and Meredy were working on getting the Oración Seis to join Crime Sorcière. Making friends wasn't exactly on his to-do list.
"Where are you headed?" Rachael smiled as she stepped closer to the blue haired man. "You seem to be in a rush." She added. Jellal stepped back as she stepped forward. "On a journey." he quickly walked past her, their shoulders lightly brushing against each other as he walked out of the shop. Rachael followed him, but not secretly this time. She ran up to him, trying to catch up with him, and gripped his shoulder once she caught up. She spun him around so she could look at his face.
"What's the matter with you?" Rachael laughed lightly, "I'm not gonna bite."
"Apologies, but I really have to go." Jellal turned to leave again.
"Take me with you." She said before he could take a single step.
Jellal slowly turned around, his face puzzled and confused. "W-What?"
"Take me with you." Rachael shrugged then she lowered her head and her eyes filled with sadness, "I've got no family to go to. I just wander around. Alone. So, you know, it'd be nice to at least wander . . . . with a friend." She emphasized the word "friend", hoping that she and Jellal could be friends.
As Jellal and Rachael walked back to Meredy, he informed her about the guild that he created and their plans to take down Zeref. He only brushed light topics, not going in depth because he just met the girl. He didn't completely trust her just yet. "Jellal!" Meredy called. She waved over to him, noticing Rachael. "Who is-"
"Meredy, this is Rachael." He gestured to the brunette standing next to him. "She'll be joining us." Meredy didn't say another word. She just nodded and gave Rachael a cloak matching hers and Jellal's.
The three mages walked down the path onwards to the prison where the Oración Seis were held. They had a long way to go, but Rachael was excited. She had waited her whole life for this.
