Third person's pov

Ishan exited the cab and looked at the building in front of him. Saying he felt nervous would be an understatement. Looking up at the huge building, he felt like he really had come a long way. He slowly entered the building looking around. The first time he had come here a couple days ago, he hadn't looked around much, not believing he could actually land the job, but here he was.

He went towards the reception and greeted the middle aged woman at the desk.
"Are you the new secretary?"
"Yes ma'am."
She just nodded smiling at him pitifully. Wait. Pitifully? Why? Before he could question it further, the lady handed him his ID.
"23rd floor."
Ishan just nodded and made his way towards the elevator and got down on the 23rd floor, making his way to the office.

He knocked on the frosted glass door and heard a soft affirmation. When he finally entered the cabin of his boss, the man had been facing the glass wall, which the entire city could be viewed from, sitting on his spinny chair. He slowly turned around and Ishan's jaw dropped seeing him.
"YOU!?"
"No hello, no good morning?"
The man, also known as Shubman Gill smiled at him.

You might be wondering how Ishan knew this man, right?
Well let's take it from the start, when Shubman and Ishan had first met.

~flashback~

"Hey! Watch where you're going."
Shubman said arrogantly, eyeing the man that had just bumped into him.
"I'm sorry"
Replied Ishan innocently, looking at Shubman with his big doe eyes.
"Nah, it's okay."
Shubman replied, walking away, feeling a bit bad for snapping at the young boy. Ishan looked like he was around 20 and looked extremely poor, according to Shubman.

Shubman then walked towards his car and when he sat inside and checked himself in the mirror his locket was missing. He then checked his pockets and found out his wallet was missing as well. Shubman instantly got out of the car and made his way back to the entrance of his college. He couldn't believe this was happening to him. He had already been having a terrible day. He then looked around, but couldn't spot the young boy anymore.

Shubman walked back to his car, sighing and banging his head on the steering wheel. Shubman was so done with his life. The next day, as if fate was playing an important role, Shubman ran into Ishan at the convenience store, Ishan worked at. Ishan's shift had just ended and he was making his way out, when he spotted Shubman. Ishan continued walking until Shubman stopped him by blocking his way.

Ishan looked at the man in front of him questioningly and Shubman looked angry.
"You!"
Shubman pointed an accusatory finger at Ishan.
"Yes?"
Ishan answered raising an eyebrow, confused.
"Where is my locket?"
"I'm sorry, do I know you?"

"You bumped into me yesterday."
Shubman said gritting his teeth.
"Oh! That was you."
"Where is my locket?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about?"
"Don't pretend to be all innocent now! Give me your bag!"
Shubman snatched Ishan's bag and started searching it.

"Excuse me? Who do you think you are? Just because you're rich, doesn't mean you can do anything. Give me my bag back!"
Ishan angrily said, trying to snatch his bag away, but Shubman was much stronger and so Ishan was pushed away as Shubman continued to search his bag. Ishan had given up and just let Shubman check it.

"It's not in here. Where did you keep it?"
"Are you accusing me of theft!?"
"If you don't give me my locket back, I'm calling the police-"
"SHUBMAN!"
Before Shubman could finish with his threats, someone interrupted him.
"Hi, what are you doing here?"
"Just shopping."
Ishan looked at the female, dumbfounded.

What else would he be doing outside a convenience store? Ishan thought rolling his eyes.
"Oh by the way, you left this at my place a couple days ago."
The girl said removing a locket from her pocket. Shubman looked at it with widened eyes and Ishan narrowed his eyes at Shubman. Shubman took the locket out of Tanya's hand and looked at her awkwardly, afraid of making eye contact with Shubman.

"Uh thanks Tanya....can you give us a minute?"
Tanya finally turned to look at Ishan, acknowledging his presence as if she hadn't seen him all this time and gave Ishan a dirty look, before turning to Shubman, nodding and walking away. Shubman finally turned to look at Ishan.
"I'm sorry I-"

"Save it"
Ishan said raising his palm to stop Shubman, before walking away. Shubman sighed in frustration, running his hand through his hair. A few days later, Ishan had been standing outside Shubman's college again, when Shubman spotted him.
"Hey!"
Startled Ishan backed up and turned to look at Shubman, as his expression soured instantly.

"What do you want?"
" I just wanted to apologize, I'm really sorry. What's your name?"
Ishan told Shubman his name and Shubman then asked,
"You don't study here, surely. Then why are you always around here?"
"Why do you think I don't study here?"
Shubman's eyes roamed around Ishan's body, eyeing his clothes.
"No reason."

"Ok ouch."
Ishan said mocking hurt.
"Sorry."
"You are correct, I don't study here. I work nearby and I like to watch the students."
"Don't you go to college?"
Ishan just laughed in return but before he could walk away, Shubman stopped him.

Shubman wanted to say something but he hesitated.
"Hope to see you around."
After that Ishan for some reason, unknown to himself, lingered around the college. At first, he didn't spot Shubman, but then he started figuring out the timings, of Shubman exiting college and they started meeting more often. They had gotten a lot closer.

One day, Ishan made his way to Shubman and looked at him serious.
"I want to tell you something."
Shubman smiled up at him in anticipation.
