That one night

Part 14

*Charles POV*

I was sat on the sofa at my pre race weekend interview waiting for it to start when I felt my phone go off from inside my pocket. So I quickly took it out and had a look at who it was I saw the name Kaitlyn so I unlocked my phone and went to see what she had messaged me and respond but the interviewer started talking meaning I could only have a quick look, but just my luck nothing was loading so I put my phone down and tried to distract myself from the message. questions were asked to everyone but when it got to me of course the first thing that was asked was about Olly so I just said next question since me and Kaitlyn agreed that it was to best to ignore and not answer any questions about the Olly, Luckily after  that one question I just got questions about the F1 weekend and how the car was going to perform which I happily answered. They then moved on to Pierre who was sat next to me and asked him questions about the race weekend so I just sat there looking at the floor praying it would be over soon.

After what felt like years the press conference was finally over, I walked over to my media manager and tried to open the messages again and they finally opened as we walked out of the room I read the message.

Kaitlyn:'Hey just letting you know I had to pick up Olly early from school he broke his arm.He said he wanted red because it was like daddy's car.He has to have the cast on for the next 6 weeks.Good luck this weekend.'

I quickly pressed the phone button and put my phone to my ear praying Kaitlyn would answer as we walked out the building, luckily on the 4th ring she answered,

Kaitlyn:"Hey Charles"

Charles:"I saw your message is Olly okay"

Kaitlyn:"Yes well other then his arm he's fine obviously don't worry"

Charles:"how did he break it and of course I'm gonna worry"

Kaitlyn:"he was playing football in PE and got pushed over and fell on his arm and now we have to deal with a broken arm for the next 6 weeks"

Charles:"6 weeks is so long he's gonna hate it"

Kaitlyn:"Oh he already is.He's upset about it as well he keeps saying the cast is annoying him it's not going to be a fun couple of weeks. I'm gonna keep him off tomorrow he's in a lot of pain and has to take medicine every 4 hours he's not with it properly since the pain medication is so strong"

Charles:"Its really not good why did the kid even push him anyway"

Kaitlyn:"kid said it was to get the ball but the teachers were saying that Olly didn't even have the ball I have no clue."

Charles:"that's crazy he didn't even have the ball"

Kaitlyn:"i know but its happened now and we have to focus on Olly and make sure his arm is okay and not about what a kid did to him although it wasn't okay what the kid did you just try and forget about it."

Charles:"okay can I talk to him"

Kaitlyn:"yes sure on minute"

I heard muffled talking as I headed upstairs and sat down in my drivers room.

Olly:"Daddy"

Charles:"hey buddy mummy told me about your arm"

Olly:"ye it really hurts but I take this medicine and it helps but it tastes bad but I get to have a sweet after so that's good"

Charles:"well I'm glade the medicine helps buddy.Are you watching this weekend"

Olly:"yes obviously I got my cast red like your car"

Charles:"that's so cool Its definitely going to help us this weekend I know it"

Olly:"when me and mummy come to next weekends race can you and uncle Arthur and the other drivers sign it please"

Charles:"yes we can go around and get them all to sign it how does that sound"

Olly:"that sounds really good thanks daddy"

Charles:"no problem buddy ill speak to you soon yes I have to go do interviews love you"

Olly:"love you to good luck"

Charles:"thanks buddy"

he then handed the phone back to Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn:"good luck this weekend"

Charles:"thank you speak to you soon"

Kaitlyn:"bye Charles"

Charles:"bye"

I hung up the phone before heading back downstairs to carry on with media day praying that no one picked up on how I was in the interview earlier.
