Kiara was practically sweating. Why was she so nervous? It wasn't a date... more so a catch-up. And she knew Emily. It would be fine. That thought kept repeating in her head over and over again.

She had just gotten off the phone with KK, the younger girl helping her pick out what to wear. The pair ended up deciding on camo cargo pants and a black crop top, of course with Kiara's jewelry scattered all over. The only time she didn't wear her rings was when playing basketball.

After applying copious amounts of deodorant and some perfume, the brunette sat on her new couch and awaited the knock at the door.

Kiara fidgeted with her rings as she waited, scrolling through tiktok to see endless amount of edits of Paige. They all just boosted the blonde's ego way too much.

Kiara was snapped out of her thoughts as a loud knocking rung throughout the apartment. The brunette looked at her phone to check the time. 7PM exactly. She remembered that Emily didn't like to be late.

Kiara wanted to race to the door just to see Emily sooner, even if it was just a few seconds, but she held herself back. She wasn't desperate and it wasn't a date.

The shorter girl swung the door open to reveal Emily. The woman was wearing a blue flannel over a cream colored hoodie, baggy black jeans sitting nicely on her legs. Cut it out, Kiara. What she didn't see was Emily also looking at her from head to toe.

"Hey, Emmy!" Kiara said and pulled her purse over her shoulder, smiling up at her ex-lover. Emily paused for a second at the nickname, just like she did this morning. No one had ever called her 'emmy' besides Kiara.

"Hi, Kiks. How was your day?" Emily asked politely as she watched the brunette close the door to her apartment and lock it.

"I saw you, like, five hours ago," Kiara laughed as they walked down the hall to the elevator. Kiara suppressed the urge to look up at Emily, not feeling like getting lost in the trance of looking at her perfect face.
