Madeleines boots clacked against the shiny white floors of the university. He strides down the hall with shoulders back and head held high, the face of satisfaction, victory. He had an overwhelming aura of confidence, even if he wasn't doing anything out of the usual.
Madeleine approached his Mathematics class and swung the door open. He entered swiveling his head side to side looking for his professor.
Until he spotted him at his desk adjusting papers.
"Sir? You called for me?"
"Yes, I needed to speak with you about something important."
Madeleines heart dropped immediately remembering his grade in this class, he was barely passing.
His posture faltered as he approached his professors desk, softly jiggling his leg trying to stay put.
"Your grade Madeleine, it has certainly waned over these last few months. Is there anything go on with you?"
"No sir."
"Then why must your grade be so low? You excel in every class but this one, am I being too strict?"
"No sir."
His professors eyebrows furrowed as he put his papers down and interlocked his hands placing them atop the papers.
"Is that all you have to say? Can I have more vocabulary please?"
"I apologize, I've just been getting distracted lately."
"Clearly. Do I need to refer you to a tutor? Do I need to treat you like a middle schooler?"
"A tutor could possibly help me..."
"There are a few people in this class who could help you greatly. My highest recommendation is Espresso Cookie."
"Okay, thank you sir."
"Get out of my classroom."
Madeleine immediately backed out of the class. He was so screwed, there was no way in hell Espresso would tutor him.
Madeleine rushed down the hall and back to his dorm to see Espresso and Latte chatting, of course Espresso went silent and gave Madeleine a nasty glare.
He ignored the look and climbed into bed and looked at the popcorn ceiling, what was he meant to do?
Espresso wasn't very friendly with him, that enough was clear.
But he needed to pass that class, or at least raise his grade in some form.
Madeleine fidgeted with his long hair, normally he would braid it but he was afraid to sit up and have to deal with Espresso glaring at him.
Espresso already didn't seem very happy after he woke up after his nap in the mathematics.
Madeleine couldn't help but wonder why.
