A face in the darkness. Flashing lights. Deafening shrieks that come from within me, but not voluntarily. Blood pounding in my ears. Adrenalized veins pulsing.
A cacophony of noise bombard my senses as shoots of pain run throughout my body. A voice amidst the static is screaming my name in a whirlwind of agony.

I inhaled a sharp breath before opening my eyes.
Where the Hell am I?
I groaned as I found the energy to sit up. There was a slight spin to my surroundings; a headache was forming beneath the front of my skull.
This is a weird hangover, I thought. No nausea, just pain behind my eyes...
The room was bright; tan walls and simple decor. I was sitting under the covers of a fairly decent bed.
A rising sense of danger forced into my psyche, a judgement based upon my past experiences in ending up somewhere that I wasn't supposed to be.
The creaking of a door opening alerted me, and I snapped my head in its direction.
Standing in the door frame was a little boy, bright blue eyes locked on me.
"Hi."
I was silent, stunned.
"You're supposed to say 'hi' back." He politely informed me without an ounce of attitude in his voice.
"Um...hi..?"
The boy smiled a toothy grin. One of his teeth was missing. "Calixte said I'm not allowed to bother you while you're asleep. But now that you're awake, do you want to come downstairs and play?"
"I...I don't-"
"Edward! What did I tell you about leaving Miss Bomb alone?" A familiar voice called from somewhere outside of the room.
"She's awake."
"WHAT?!"
My head fog gave way for realization as the thin frame of Pentious leaned over the boy. His eyes widened.
I shook my head. "What the fuck..?"
Why is my vision like this? I can't see for shit!
"Miss Bomb...I-!"
"What is going on?! Where the fuck am I?" I moved to scramble out of the bed, but the moment I put pressure on my leg I crumbled. "Fuckin' bloody-" I inspected my leg and saw that it was wrapped in bandages from my knee to my ankle.
I turned my body to the two others. "What did you do to me?" I seethed.
"Edward, please go to your room. I need to speak to Miss Bomb alone." He ushered the boy out of my view, then faced me. "I apologize for his behaviour; he doesn't mean any harm. He was just as concerned as I was."
I furrowed my brow, waiting for an explanation on my current situation.
Pentious sucked in a breath. "Right...I suppose you are asking me what is going on because you have no recollection of last night's events." He entered the room, but did not attempt to come closer. "The question is if you even want to remember."
