~Arringtons'~

Persephone couldn't sleep that night. She tossed and turned all night, thinking of what would happen, what needed to be done. She thought about her life. How her life turned upside down. How she wouldn't be here, laying down next to the love of her life, who was soundly asleep. Staring at James' peaceful face, Persephone knew she had to follow through with her plan. If not for herself, for him.
James didn't need to go above and beyond to be with her. He could've easily found another girl. Someone who didn't have so much baggage. Someone who came from a loving family, who will open their arms to him. But he chose to be with her. He chose to stick through, face the battle head on and win. She knew he would do it all over again if it meant this outcome. Laying next to each other.
Persephone was determined, to make things right, to find peace. She knew she needed to do this in order to stop things once and for all. To see who Daniel truly was and what exactly was his goal in this whole game of his. Was it money? Was it power? Was it both? She needed to know. James was her reason to not give up. James was her sun. He was light in her darkness. He was a warm and welcome presence, spreading his light to the darkness that was her life. She would forever be grateful for her sun. Even in tough obstacles, James had always found a way to shine his light. When darkness consumed her, he always found a way to shine his light to lead her out of it.
So she watched as the moon let the sun rise. She watched as the sun shined through the curtains, giving the once dark room some light. She watched as James slowly awoke, ready to start the day. She watched as James planted a kiss goodbye and went out the door.
"Any plans for the day?" Bella asked as she helped Persephone put on her dress.
"I'm starting step one of my plan. To uncover what Daniel has up his sleeve." Persephone had already given Bella the rundown on what was going to happen this day moving forward. Now more than ever she needed Bella on her side. "Naomi and I will be going to the Arringtons'. We need all the information we can get about this drink problem."
"Hopefully you girls will be able to speak to Lucy. I'm not sure if she would want to speak to the wife of a Duke who she tried to seduce." Bella expressed as she finished brushing through Persephone's hair. "And failed miserably. Like brother, like sister."
Persephone chuckled as she stared at Bella through the mirror of her vanity. "It's not like she has a choice. Either she tells us what's going on and why she tried to drug my husband or we handle this legally. Either one works for me."
She wanted to speak to Lucy calmly. Persephone wanted to get as much information she can get about the incident but also anything Lucy may know about Robert or Daniel that could be of interest. She didn't want things to get ugly, there was a point to it. But Persephone wasn't afraid to go low. Her husband is involved in this, James could have gotten hurt. A scandal could have made all throughout town. Lady Whistledown would have this story front cover. However, what mainly concerned Persephone is what would have happened if her plan had worked. Who knows what Lucy would have done.
