"We are here young master" said Zora as he opened the door for Francis, they entered and Zora pulled out a chair for his young master. After Francis sat down Zora bowed his head and said, while still having a smile "young master, I shall take my leave. You need only to call for me when you need anything" Francis nodded his head in reply, then Zora left.

"Mother, Father, Flo, and Ari" I greeted, "Took you long enough" Flo said "Come on big sis flo, don't be so mean to big brother" Ari chimed in.

"I'm sorry Flo it seems like I overslept" I said " what!" She exclaimed as her eyes widened "But you always wake up early, were you sick or something?" Flo asked.

*Sigh* father sighed exhaustedly "Enough and continue eating" he said 'hmm, it seems father had enough of our bickering, he must not have slept well'

As I was almost finished my food father called out to me "Francis" he said as I lifted my eyes to meet his. "Meet me in my office, before tea time" he continued "Yes father" I replied.

As he sat there on the chair in his study, with Zora pouring tea for him.
He opened the first drawer one where he put his pens, then opened the second drawer to get one of his notebooks

(There are exactly 6 drawers three on each side his office table. Two of which he jus putst his notebooks[4 on each drawer] the other two where he puts his parchment paper[to make letters]. And the last two, where he puts his pens, quills, and ink in, and the other where he puts a few documents)
[Tbh the notebooks is just where he takes notes or it's somewhat a journal of sorts ┐⁠(⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠)⁠┌]

After Zora poured the tea he put the teapot on the tray and proceeded to stand near the door, after he gave the tray to the maid to return it to the kitchen.[almost forgot about him(⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)]

I opened the book and held the pen just above the page, 'what should I write about?'. "I should write about what I'll need for the banquet in 5 months", 'even though I don't want it'.

(The banquet is for him because he is gonna be the heir for his father, the one that will inherit the position of duke.)

'I should have a lot of time to ready, and I could try to convince father to not give me the position. I don't like doing paperwork, plus my sibling might also be interested', "young master it is time for you to go to the lord's office" I lifted my head and looked at Zora's eyes, "hmm, very well let us go".

We stood in front of the door of the office, and Zora knock on the door. *Knock* "my lord the young master is here" then we heard a muffled voice saying "come in" 'i should try doing that'.

As I watched my son enter my office and greet me "father, the most benevolent and merciful duke, might I know of what reason you have called for me?" he smiled as he greeted me *sigh* "enough with that glib tounge of yours, you and I both know that you will be the one to succeed me".

*Tsk* "but father Flo or Ari might be interested" he argued, I lifted my brow "we can't do anything about it, Flora doesn't want the position and Ariana is too young plus your also the most suitable for this position".

"Fine" he said dejectedly "great that's settled then" I said with a little smile, I got of my seat and put my hands on his shoulders "now off you go, I still have lot to do" then gently pushed him out of my office.

*Sigh* "why can't I just be free of this position" I mumbled, " young master, I believe it's tea time with the madam and young ladies" Zora said. *Flinch* "ahem, very well then lead me to the garden".

While Ari and flo continued to just ramble about their day, mother and I were just listening and drinking tea.

"Frans, how was your talk with your father" mother said, I turned to her and said. "Well I wouldn't say it was bad, but just a bit disappointed"

"He told you, that you were to succeed him did he not?" I looked at her as I sighed "yes he did mother" I said dejectedly.

"Well you would make a great duke one day" Flo said, "mhm" Ari hummed as she nodded her head rigorously with shining eyes.

"No one has a cool and kind brother like mine after all" Ari said boastfully,
"But I don't want to be one though" I whined. "Well too bad brother, I don't want to be a duchess. There will be too much paperwork to be done and I am not going to be cooped up in a desk for hours and hold meetings with a bunch of dim witted fools." Flo said tactfully.

*Sigh* "Why must I bear the burdens of being the oldest and the heir." "Oh come one dear it won't be that bad." Mother said.

"I guess so" I whispered as I watched them, 'for them I guess it wouldn't be that bad' I thought with a gentle smile.
