I walk through the forest as dawn breaches it highest point. I'm walking with a friend of mine. He is talking but I don't. I figured he did it for the both of us really. He was noisy so I hushed him as we approached a small herd of deer. Four, one small and the rest adult. I assumed anyways. My friend stared intently at them as did I. It looked as though they were helping it stand for the first time. The fawn fell the first tries at the new concept. Soon the embodiment got the hang of it, standing firmly, looking confident and proud taking its first steps. It stumbled but the doe next to it helped, standing closely for support.

The newborn limps against the mother figure for several seconds before standing up straight again and trying to walk. He is successful for a few minutes before he looks tired so the little on sits down and the leaves crunch softly under its fragile body. The "family" of the snow flaked white on the fawns back peppering up lightly on his face, stood, then sat and nuzzled up. Being warmed by its fellow species the eyes close quickly, eyelids had been a drooped for a minute before. I start to walk around, weaving through the trees, Trying to get a better view of the tiny family. My friend follows swiftly behind me.

I kneel down when I am the closet that I will get to them without disturbing them. I think, 'what a beautiful thing really...' I sigh quietly, 'others to care for you. Even when you make mistakes... Too bad I don't have that... My friend... He follows me.... Everywhere.' I continue on my way after I had admired the fawn and its relatives. My friend still follows.... My friend, is know as Guilt or Fear.... guilt or fear of the rejection that the ones that loved me once. Once I was loved and cared for. But not anymore.
