Falling apart

The sensation of being bound and restricted is suffocating, both physically and mentally. Every attempt to move is met with unyielding resistance, as if invisible chains constrict my limbs, rendering them powerless. The cold, unrelenting touch of restraints against my skin serves as a relentless reminder of my captivity, reinforcing that I am entirely at the mercy of my captors.

With each attempt to break free, frustration washes over me. The bonds hold fast, their grip unyielding, trapping me in an inescapable prison. Every struggle only serves to tighten their hold, leaving me feeling increasingly helpless and desperate.

I pulled on the restraints once more, emitting a frustrated yell. My body felt weighed down, and the sound of approaching footsteps echoed in the room. Three figures entered, and my gaze locked onto Dream. A burning sensation surged within me, almost making me feel nauseous at the sight of him.

The first figure was a child, their physical form adorned with a well-trimmed bob haircut, pale grey skin, and a pair of void-like grey sockets for eyes that never fully close. They wore a long-sleeved puffy sweater with horizontal stripes, paired with sweat shorts, white socks, and semi-formal shoes.

The towering figure next to the child appeared akin to a scientist, distinguished by glasses perched upon his nose. Lines reminiscent of cracked stone extended from his eyes, giving him an ancient and weathered appearance.

"W-what the hell is going on?!" I yelled, my voice trembling with fear and confusion.

"Y/n, it's going to be okay," came the reassuring reply, laced with a hint of concern.

"Okay? OKAY!!!" I glared at him, my voice rising with anger and frustration. "YOU attacked the castle! You kidnapped me! AGAIN! You tied me up! Nightmare-"

"They kidnapped you! Y/n, please, you must understand, Nightmare doesn't care about you. He's just using you," he pleaded urgently, his voice tinged with desperation and concern.

"Are you serious?!" I screamed at him, my voice filled with disbelief and frustration. "How can you say that?! Nightmare has been nothing but kind to me! I'm pretty sure that's called gaslighting!"

"What? No!" he tried to deny, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"That's super fucked up, Dream! You know, for a supposed good guy, you aren't very good! Almost everything I've been through with you hasn't been very nice!" He looked away, ashamed. "I mean, I've been kidnapped, what, three times now? I almost died multiple times from that, by the way! Not to mention, my friends were attacked! And Nightmare, who rescued me from my abusive parents, has done everything in his power to protect me. For better or worse, you scare me, I act in self-defense, and your friends try to attack me."

"Y/n-"

"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP! You wanted to be friends, but THIS isn't too friendly, Dream! I'm starting to think maybe Nightmare was right about you! You're just some selfish, blinding, scorching sunlight! I thought maybe this was all a misunderstanding, that maybe you really cared." I glared at him defiantly from my restraints.

"I mean, look at me, I'm currently tied up! Did it mean anything to you when we chatted? The garden? Eating together? Did I mean anything to you?" He was quiet. "The real difference between Nightmare and you is that Nightmare would at least try to be good for me, something hopeful." He glared at me, gritting his teeth. "You have been nothing but a bad influence!"

"Y/n, after all I've done for you, this is how you repay me!?" He froze after saying that.

"Wow. So I just owe you now? That's not friendly either." Tears brimmed his eyes immediately as he fidgeted. I glared and sighed. "I can't believe I gave you a chance."
