A few days passed, and Talha had also returned home from the hospital.
"Talha, are you okay?" Miss Amna asked as she entered his room.
He looked at her and nodded silently.
"What's wrong, Talha? You look so sad," she said, gently cupping his face in her hands.
"Eomma... How can I be okay when my heart isn't with me?" he whispered.
His mother couldn't bear to see her son like this and softly said, "You have to trust Allah, my son. Everything will be fine."
"What will God do when I didn't do enough?" he shouted, his voice filled with frustration.
"My child, Allah is testing your patience. Surely, you will receive your reward. Just keep praying."
"I've learned a lot from Ezzah, not from my soul," he murmured.
"Eomma..." He hugged her, his shoulders shaking with hiccups. She rubbed soothing circles on his back.
"Take some rest now," she said softly. "After that, come down for dinner."
He nodded again, and Miss Amna left the room.
Talha lay down, staring at the ceiling. I never thought I'd be the kind of person to fall in love, yet here I am, he thought. Her love brought me back to my Rab. And now that I want to claim that love, my Rab has taken it away... Doubt gnawed at his heart. How selfish I've been...
He got up from the bed and walked to his closet. His eyes immediately fell on a black shalwar kameez hanging neatly inside. He remembered Ezzah’s words: "You would look so handsome in a shalwar kameez."
A small smile crept onto his face. He grabbed the outfit and headed for the bathroom. A short while later, he emerged, now dressed in the black shalwar kameez.
I do look good in these clothes, he thought, admiring himself in the mirror. My pretty soul was right.
Just then, Ibrahim and Elif entered the room, shocked by what they saw.
"Oppa, is that you?" Elif asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"I can't believe it," Ibrahim added, his voice laced with frustration. "Is that really my brother?"
Talha, amused, pinched Ibrahim's arm. "Idiot, it’s me."
"Yeah, I see that," Ibrahim grumbled. "But what's with the shalwar kameez all of a sudden?"
"I’m going to get my pretty soul. Don’t I look good?" Talha said with a smile.
"Oppa, of course! You look very, very handsome," Elif chimed in.
"You're not talking much," Ibrahim whispered to Elif.
She smiled and glanced at him, but Talha caught the exchange.
"Don't worry, bunny. She’s all yours," Talha teased.
"I know she is," Ibrahim muttered.
"Okay, let’s go for dinner. You need to get ready to leave for Pakistan."
"Let’s go. Eomma and Appa are waiting for us," Talha said, leading the way downstairs.
"Assalamualaikum, Eomma," Talha greeted his parents, Miss Amna and Mr. Ahsan, as they gathered around the dinner table.
"Oh, Walaykumasalam, son," they both replied.
"Talha, is that really you?" Miss Amna asked, surprised to see him dressed in traditional clothes.
