10( a.m. in Lahore):
Ezzah went to the kitchen after reciting the HOLY QURAN.
"Talha, what do you want to eat?" she asked, giving him puppy eyes.
He looked at her and thought to himself, I want to eat my pretty soul.
Still lost in his thoughts, Ezzah pinched his arm. "I’m asking you, Talha, what do you want to eat?"
"Anything you make, I’ll eat it," he replied with a glowing smile.
"So, how do you feel about biryani?" she suggested.
"Biryani? Hmm, if you want to make it, I’ll eat anything from your hand. Just make it, wifey," he said.
She smiled and started blushing.
"Let’s make it," she said, then began cooking biryani, with Talha helping by cutting vegetables.
As she was about to pick up onions for cutting, Talha stopped her.
"But why?" she asked with a questioning look.
"Because your eyes are so precious to me. I don’t want to see any tears in them," Talha replied with a peaceful smile.
"Oh..." She smiled and handed him the onions.
"You can’t stand to see tears in my eyes, but I can cut them now," she teased.
Talha looked at the onions with a fluffy face and muttered to himself, Oh Allah, please help me.
Then he started cutting the onions, while Ezzah watched him peacefully.
Tears flowed from his eyes, but he continued cutting the onions for his wife.
"See, pretty soul, I cut the onions," he said, jumping and laughing after finishing.
Ezzah continued staring at him, and Talha noticed.
"Wifey, don’t stare at me like that. I’m melting here, you know," he said.
She listened to his words and started coughing, trying to suppress her smile.
"Why are you coughing?" he asked, feeling frustrated as he rushed to the refrigerator.
Her coughing worsened.
"Water! Take some water!" he quickly brought her a glass full of water.
"Pretty soul, please take care of yourself. You don’t know how important you are to me," he said, offering her the glass.
"Drink," he said, turning his face away.
She lifted her veil, drank the water, and put her veil back.
"Talha, can I tell you something?" she asked.
He turned to her and said, "Wifey, you can say anything to me, anytime. I’m always here to listen."
She stared at him and, coming closer, said, "Talha, you’re the best husband in the world. I think every woman deserves a husband like you."
She continued, "We’re newly married, and yet you haven’t even touched me a little or forced me to remove my niqab to see my face. Alhamdulillah, I’m blessed with the greatest husband."
Talha listened to her words with full attention. When she stopped, he replied, "You’re the most important woman in my life, the one who taught me about Islam, patience, love, and God."
He added, "And your love has taught me, Talha, that every man should be mentally strong. When their love seems far away, they fight for it with everything they have."
