"And so starts the second year of school," you thought, sitting in class. "Why do I have to be reminded that I'm getting older?"
You watched as a woman with unkempt, dark brown hair came in the room and stood in front of the board with the name "Kawakami" written on it.
Kawakami: "Hello class. I hope everyone's had a fun summer break. The second year has begun, and don't think you can just slack off, alright?"
She began the class like you normally would. You took a few notes here and there, but you suddenly became interested in listening to the whole thing.
After a good hour, class time ended and everyone took a small break. You pulled out your phone and tried to look up Kawakami's information, but decided against it.
"No, that would be rude," you thought.
The next class began, and you managed to get through English for the day. Lunch soon came, and you walked down the hall before nearly bumping into Kawakami.
"Oh. Um, sorry, Ms. Kawakami."
Kawakami: "It's okay."
"So, you're the teacher for homeroom?"
Kawakami: "Yeah, for your homeroom. I'm not entirely sure if many people were listening to me."
"Well, I was. I don't normally have an opinion with teachers, but you seem like someone dedicated to this."
Kawakami: "Oh, thank you. Um, I don't know if you noticed, but some of the students started talking about you."
"About me spending most of my life in the system. I've heard it. I don't really care about it."
Kawakami: "You sure?"
"Yeah."
Kawakami: "Well, as your homeroom teacher, you can talk to me if you ever feel like it."
"Okay, sure."
You walked away and witnessed the hallway distorting into something a bit eldritch.
"Mementos. I wonder what it is. I better see if I can find this Joker figure. Igor has a lot of explaining to do. Why drag me into this if I'm not an important player?"
