Chapter 18: FUTURE PROBLEMS

As Matt walked out the courtroom, he stood outside the steps and made a call to Peter to find out where Wanda could be, but he didn't answer his phone. He then called Professor Charles Xavier for answers.

Professor X: Mr. Murdock, I was expecting your call soon enough. I assume you want to know if Wanda came to us.

Matt: I managed to make an agreement with the authorities. If we can have her appear in court in three hours, they will allow me to provide necessary evidence to ensure her safety by transferring her to another location. If Wanda is at the mansion it would be great, but I was wondering if you could use that mind thing of yours to find out where she might be.

Professor X: If I was able to use Cerebro I would've done so immediately, but for some reason I cannot access her at all. Something is blocking her, and I think I know who. As for her location, Jean just called in and confirmed she is on her way here with Mrs. Maximoff.

Matt: That's great. I'll meet you there. Then we can... talk about that other thing blocking you from accessing her. What will you do when she gets there?

Professor X: The most important thing first, welcome her in like family, which is something she desperately needs in the state she is in, then work on suppressing the sudden outbursts that her powers have been creating lately. That should probably be done when you arrive.

Matt: Whatever you do, you have to keep her there. We cannot afford to let her run away and risk the trial to be canceled. We got one shot, three hours, or she might be spending her entire life in the raft.

Professor X: Understood.

The professor put down the communication device and looked at Pietro standing beside him.

Pietro: Who was that?

Professor X: Her lawyer.

Pietro: There's gonna be a trial? Why am I only now finding this out?

Professor X: The first day of the trial is supposed to have taken place already, but for obvious reasons there has been a complication. They're giving us three hours to make her appear in court, or she will spend the rest of her life at the raft.

Pietro felt a cold chill through his spine. After what the professor told him about what she went through in there, he was determined to never allow her to go back there ever again.

Pietro: Then we MUST take her once she arrives with Jean.

Professor X: Only after we tended to her.

The Future

Cable arrived with Vision in a closed off camp filled with members of a resistance group with Vision. But the camp was overrun with hordes of loyalists and the members were forced to defend themselves. It was a battleground. Vision looked around in confusion, and saw a familiar face between them. Doctor Strange.

Cable: Oh no... How long was I gone?

Cable whipped out his blaster and began shooting the loyalists. Vision joined the fight and took them out one by one, he was more powerful than he had ever been, but there were too many.
