The next day, Victor confided in Victoria about his growing fear of getting caught by her household staff. "Victoria, I know it's only been two days since I came here, but being in that room feels like being in a cage. I can't stay cooped up for so long," he lamented.

Victoria smiled sympathetically. "You’re getting restless already, huh? Don’t worry, I'll handle it."

Later that morning, as Victoria's staff gathered for their daily duties, she addressed them. "Hello everyone. As you know, my friend Emma is staying with me for a few days, and I'd like to spend some quality time with her. So, I'm giving you all the week off. Don’t worry about your pay; you’ll still receive it."

The staff, thrilled by this unexpected vacation, happily headed home. Victoria then went to Victor, who was anxiously pacing in his room. "Hey, you're free from today. You can go wherever you want and do whatever you like," she announced cheerfully.

Relieved, Victor joined Victoria in the kitchen. They spent the next few hours watching YouTube videos on cooking and learning how to use the automatic machines for cleaning. Laughter filled the house as they attempted new recipes and marveled at their creations.

Their cozy day took an abrupt turn when Victoria received a call from her office. Her assistant needed her immediate attention. The call dragged on for 30 minutes, filled with tense discussions and pressing issues. When it finally ended, Victoria, feeling stressed and drained, returned to find Victor setting the dinner table.

She was astonished. The table was beautifully arranged with a variety of dishes that looked and smelled incredible. Despite her earlier stress, Victoria felt a wave of gratitude and admiration for Victor.

As they sat down to eat, she took her first bite and was stunned by how delicious the food was. "Victor, this is amazing! I had no idea you could cook like this."

Victor smiled modestly. "I had some good help from those videos, and I wanted to do something special for you."

The dinner turned out to be the perfect remedy for Victoria's stress. They enjoyed the meal.

The next morning, Victoria quietly got ready, careful not to wake Victor. She moved through the house with a sense of urgency, knowing she had a long day ahead of her at the office. Before she left, she placed a jar of Nutella and a loaf of fresh bread on the kitchen table. Beside them, she left a handwritten note:

"Sorry, Victor. I didn’t want to wake you up. I left early today because of some problems at my company. Enjoy breakfast, and don't wait for dinner."

With one last glance at the sleeping Victor, she grabbed her keys and headed out the door.

At the office, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Employees huddled in small groups, whispering anxiously. Phones rang incessantly, and the usual hum of productivity was replaced by a chaotic buzz.

Victoria strode into the building, her face a mask of determination. Her assistant, Lydia , met her at the entrance, her expression grave.

"Ms. Hale, we've got a serious issue. The client for our biggest project is threatening to pull out," Lydia  said, handing her a folder filled with urgent documents.

Victoria’s heart sank. "Let's go to the conference room and sort this out," she replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil brewing inside her.

In the conference room, key members of her team were already assembled, their faces mirroring the anxiety that had gripped the office. As Victoria took her seat at the head of the table, she could feel the weight of their expectations on her shoulders.

"Alright, let's get to it. What exactly happened?" Victoria asked, scanning the faces around her.

Her project manager, Steve, spoke up. "The client is unhappy with our latest deliverables. They claim we missed several critical milestones and the quality of the work isn’t up to their standards."

Victoria frowned, flipping through the documents Lydia had given her. "How did this happen? We’ve been on top of this project from the beginning."

There was a moment of uncomfortable silence before Steve continued, "We’ve had some miscommunication between departments, and a few key updates were missed. It’s been a perfect storm of small mistakes that added up."

Victoria took a deep breath, trying to keep her frustration in check. "Alright, here's what we’re going to do. I need a detailed report on the missed milestones and a plan to rectify each issue. We’re not losing this client. Lydia , set up a call with them for this afternoon. I’ll personally assure them that we’re on top of this."

The team nodded, energized by her decisive approach, and quickly dispersed to tackle their tasks. Left alone in the conference room for a moment, Victoria let out a sigh. The day had barely started, and it already felt overwhelming.

---

Back at home, Victor woke up to find Victoria's note. He sighed, feeling a pang of loneliness but also concern for her. He spread Nutella on a slice of bread, thinking about how hard she worked and wishing he could do something to help.

As the day progressed, Victoria’s disappointment at the office grew. Despite her best efforts, the problems seemed to compound, each solution uncovering another issue. By evening, she felt drained, the weight of the day’s challenges pressing heavily on her.

When she finally returned home, much later than usual, she found the house quiet. Victor had respected her note and not waited up. She found a plate with a sandwich on the counter, a small gesture from Victor that brought a tired smile to her face.
