•••The Butler transport was snappy in service, leaving Stevie waiting not too long before a distinct luxury car pulled into the scenery. She was enveloped in a hug when the door opened. As a tendency that would occur when she ventured out with Will, they'd stop by their favourite teashop. The waiter only had to take a look at their faces before he jotted down their regular orders and went off.
"So explain this to me, Stevie... Why the bloody hell haven't you dumped that retarded stalker already?" Will hissed. "I get the boy has a fine arse but come on, he's totally crossed the line this time."
"I know and I will officially end things. A little later in October though."
"Why wait til then?"
"Demented stalker or not, he's an asset to the swim team making it back in the higher rankings. The relays and last season event are crucial to stabilising it this year and let's say, their star diver flops, Ms. Shepherd hears a break up happened previously, she'll blame me and rain down all sorts of hell and classify it as my fault."
"That's a bit petty of her though, don't you think you're being a little paranoid?"
"When she found out I wasn't just helping the swim team and dating the spazz, she called me into her office to personally congratulate me. By threatening to burn my scholarship documents if I tamper with the new golden egg."
Will gaped. "What? She can't do that. That's an abuse of her authority."
Stevie shrugged. She was more or less used to the numerous indirect warnings or exploits the twisted head was dishing out. Ever since the main threat was no longer in the picture, Ms. Shepherd lost any use of keeping Stevie in Coeus and St. Sinclair in general, which she forwardly told Stevie one warm summer day. The old witch was bored and merely looking at a fun way of torturing a mouse. That mouse being Stevie in this case.
"You haven't let Garren know about this, have you?" suspected Will.
"No."
"Stevie." He groaned with that 'What the hell' exasperated look.
"I'm not just gonna go running to you guys for any time I have a little issue."
"You consider this little?"
"If it's just about me and not affecting my family, then yeah." answered Stevie. "Besides, just because Garren is her grandson, doesn't mean he'll have any thing to hold her back from kicking me out of the academy. She even suspended him just to save herself time. That viper has no care for others, blood ties or not."
"Yeah..." Will admitted but he looked no way happy about agreeing.
"Speaking of which, isn't the suspension only for five days? He's only got 'til Wednesday, has he put his master plan together yet?"
Will shrugged. "Dunno, he isn't at home or any of the regular places we hang out but he answers his phone when I call. Only text though."
"Interesting," muttered Stevie, "And?"
