"What happened?"

I sat legs-crossed, eyes glued onto the television screen as the words "Breaking News" were bold on the bottom half. New York City's usual broadcaster stood in front of what seemed to be a burned down building. She looked emotionally disturbed as she pointed to the back of what used to be Tobias Brantley's law firm. Luckily enough the authorities were called before the buildings aside it could be affected by the flames. Only God himself would know how many people would be hurt if the fire spread to the other buildings. Another pro in the situation was that no one had been in the firm when it caught fire,

"Tobias Brantley's law firm caught fire last night," I explained to my older brother, keeping my eyes on the screen in front of me. How could this have happened?

There wasn't much that I knew about Tobias Brantley other than the fact that he was the lawyer for a lot of politicians, first coming to mind was Governor Weston.

"How did they say it happened?" My brother spoke, clearly disinterested in the conversation. Tobias was one of the many people that my brother disliked in New York, though my brother mentioned that he was the biggest fraud in the state before.

In this moment I suddenly realized that my older brother didn't really like politicians and anyone that's associated with them. Now that I actually thought of it, I realized that no one that I surrounded myself around was a fan of them.

"Arson," I worriedly spoke.

When the fair skinned news reporter mentioned that authorities didn't have a suspect, I don't miss the way that Christopher Ford laughed underneath his breath. it was almost in a way that made me feel like he knew who's responsible for this. Tobias's law firm was in the center if Manhattan, so it was strange that there wasn't one person to witness whatever took place last night. Shortly after the woman explained that all of the possible surveillance had been burned down with the fire and no buildings near had possible evidence.

"Do you think he's hurt?" I asked my brother, looking over to where he stood in the entrance of the entertainment room. Andrew's arms were folded over his chest and the expression on his face screamed that he couldn't be any less concerned with what's happening.

"Nah," Christopher spoke from aside me on the couch, eyes still glued onto the TV. "Think he's safe for now," I catch onto his shift in tone during the last two words.

For now?

"Sissy why are you even watching this?" Andrew questioned before I could dwell on Christopher's word for too long. Before I knew it, Andrew reached over my shoulder and grabbed the remote from my lap. I frowned as he turned the channel,

"I like to have some sort of sense of what's happening in the real world..." I throw over my shoulders.

With my lack of technology in the world I wasn't able to keep up with anything. The latest celebrity scandals, the newest fashion trends, or even information regarding ballet. The least I could do was enjoy watching New York latest's topics on the News Channel,

"I'm going to Christopher's office to help him sort some things out since Matthew is gone." My brother explained to me, changing the conversation. Both men wore their usual professional attire but one was clearly under the influence and the other wasn't.

My brother helping Christopher Ford with business related things was something frequent during these past few years. I nodded my head, taking a sip of my now warm decaf coffee from this morning.

"What will you do?" He questioned, adjusting the gold Rolex around his wrist.

"Maya asked me to help her out at the bookstore today," I explained softly. Similar to my brother's situation I was needed as extra help due to newly wedded couple's honeymoon. Though I didn't exactly mind helping Maya out,
