"Are you still sick my cub? I'm your mother silly." The woman who is supposedly your mom smiles at you.
'Cub? Isn't that used for young foxes— ohh.. Oh. That nickname makes a lot of sense now actually.'
"Oh yeah! My bad mom! I think I just slept on the wrong side of the best last night." You say, scratching the back of your head to make it look more believable.
"Oh well.. Okay. Well! Come on, it's time to make breakfast! I'll race you!" She giggles as she bolts straight to the table and you don't know why but you start to race her too.
Your legs weren't fast enough though.
"Hah! How can you let your old fart beat you this time?" Your supposed Mother snaps at you.
"I just.." You pant, "Want to.. eat.. breakfast!" You managed to get out before walking slowly to the table in an attempt to reach your breakfast.
"Ah! You'll be fine, stop acting like a little crybaby." She laughs as she sits down in front of her plate.
Then you can hear giggles coming from another side of the dining room. You look over to them and, of course, it's the twins. 'Why does everyone here annoy me..'
"We totally could've beaten you! Right Riko?" The little girl questions, "You're so right Rina! Big sis just can't catch up to what we can do!"
"I tried my best okay! I'm just.. a little out of practice! Now can I eat my food in peace! Please.."
"Bleh! Fine.." The twins stick their tongues out to you.
'Little assholes.'
You stare at them as you begin to actually sit down in your seat and take a deep look at your food. It was your favorite breakfast food and it looked absolutely delicious.
This was one thing about a new dimension that you could get used to.
'No hate to my parents but this looks better than their cooking.' You grab your fork as you dive into your food. After you were finished, you didn't leave a single crumb out.
You drink your drink soon after and you give a big.. loud..
Burp.
"Oops.. heh.. my bad."
"Typical.." The twins both say and you quickly glare at them which causes them to look away immediately.
"This'll slide by in here.. but please be a proper lady sometimes." You hear your mom say and without speaking back, you just nod at her.
"Sorry mom."
Your mom pats a napkin gently on her face. "Anyways, have you decided on a man yet?"
You turn towards her, "A who and a what now?"
'Why did I say that.'
"A man, darling.. as head of the household, when I pass away, it's your duty to find a husband and continue the lineage." She explains as she looks at you, arms on the table.
You shrug trying to play along, "Well.. I don't know where to start? I mean.. who are my options?"
Your mom face's shares a dumbfounded look with you. "Are you seriously asking me this now? This is like the 3rd time having to explain it to you."
"Okay! Okay, this is last time I promise!" You plead, while attempting to give her your so-called puppy eyes.
"Jeez.. do I have to drill it into your head this time? Let me see.."
"There's men from the Kamo clan.. There's some men from the Zen'in clan I beli—"
'Oh my god, I don't know how I didn't notice it before but I'm in fucking JJK! This is literally every girls dream!'
Your brain isn't taking in your mother's information right now because you're too focused on trying to figure out if this was your destiny type of bullshit.
'I don't want this to be a cliche, I can change him story but maybe it's what it has to be.'
"Oucchh!!" You yell in pain.
"That's what you get for not listening to me! What can you even be thinking about right now, you quite literally have no brain!" Your mom yells at you, which echoes out into the hallways.
"Jesus mom! I'm just trying to figure out which man I want to marry. I just have a little quick question." You say the last part with a higher pitched voice for some reason.
"What is it this time?" Your mother, clearly annoyed, replies back at you.
"Is Toji Zen'in along that list of people I can marry?"
Everything then pauses and for a moment without movement, your mother stares at you very deeply.
"Absolutely not."
