Ruin's POV:
As I walked Rosie to daycare, I can't help but think about Solar. 'He looked so tired... I wonder why...' I open the doors of the daycare and find it filled with kids. I swiftly lead Rosie over to Sun.
"Hey, Sun..." Sun looks up at me, "Yes?" I tell him what happened and he crouches down to Rosie. "Everything will be ok, I promise!" Rosie looks up and wipes her tears, "Mister Solar said if they don't find my mommy, then he could adopt me." Sun looks up at me as if asking if she was right and I nod.
Sun tells Rosie to go play then looks at me with a smirk. "Yes?" He doesn't say anything until he finally does, "Wearing Solar's hoodie?" I feel my face getting hot and I turn away. "It was cold and he offered..." Sun nods slowly, "Uh huh, sure". I feel my face getting hotter and I walk out the daycare.
On my way back to the Theater, I hear yelling and I run inside. Solar is yelling at a woman and I can't understand what he's saying. I walk over to him and places my hand on his shoulder, "Solar? What happened?" He sighs and turns towards me, "Stupid lady complaining about the movie being too kid friendly even though it's supposed to be." 'That is very stupid.' I turn to face the lady, "Ma'am, he has to put on kid friendly movies, it's part of his job to make sure kids can watch the movie too" The lady continues arguing but I don't listen, I'm focused on keeping Solar calm. "Solar... Please" He nods and goes to the back to cool down and I face the lady once more.
"Ma'am, I-" I'm cut off with this lady hitting me. "I'M FUCKING TIRED OF THIS BULLSHIT!! I'M SUEING!!!" I sigh as the lady leaves and Solar walks back in. "Are you ok?" He notices the handprint on my face and his eyes widen, "She hit you!?" I nod, "if she sues, we have proof of assault, right?" I nod again, unable to form words.
"Ruin... Come here..." I do as told and walk over to him. He pulls me into a tight hug which I'm not used to. No one really likes me so a hug is unusual but I don't pull away. "Thanks, Solar" The tight embrace lasts awhile, around 8 minutes, until Solar pulls away. "I'm here if you need me, ok?" I nod.
"Thanks again, Solar" I smile at him, "No problem, Ruin" Hours go by of cleaning the Theater of fallen popcorn and drink spills but Solar seems happier doing that with me nearby which I smile at. "Hey, Solar?" He looks up, "yeah?" 'ok... I have his attention... Do I just straight up ask or...?' I stop cleaning the stain and look back at him, "I have question..." "Go right ahead!" He replies quickly, "uhmm... Do you... have a specific sexuality?" He looks surprised then smiles, "I'm bisexual. What about you?" I smile back, "I-I'm actually gay." He smiles again, "that's cool" 'he thinks I'm cool for being gay?'
I start cleaning again, "do you have a lover?" He shakes his head in response. Part of me feels bad but the other part feels relieved and I don't know why. We continue cleaning with casual conversations and by the time we finish, it's around 10:00 PM.
I yawn and turn to Solar, "I'm going to go clock out, see you tomorrow!" He nods and finishes with the money, "me too." We both clock out and end up walking the same way. "You live in the apartments?" I nod.
As we go up, I notice he lives on the 2nd floor like me and he notices too. "My apartment number is 92, what's yours?" My eyes light up, "Mine is 98!" We both say our goodbyes and take out separate paths to our apartments.
