Chapter 23: Life's goal is death

Silence filled the crater as the two stood opposing each other weapons drawn waiting for the other to make their first move. As the silence reached unbearable levels for the observers watching this standoff. The screaming began. As both yelled out their war cries and charged. Kroq-gar, having the reach advantages, struck trying to spear Shalltear in the heart but she dodged by shifting her body to the right and then moved forward using her right arm to slash him and landed right on his shoulder plate blocking her attack. Undeterred she then slashed with her left forcing him to duck left for him to dodge.

Gaining ground and pushing on the offensive using both of her claws jumped and slashed an clawed x right at him but was blocked when the clawed x hit only his metallic hand. Now almost face to face she tried something unexpected and went for a reversal kick into his jaw. But as the kick approached Kroq-gar ducked underneath the kick and wind back and punished Shalltear kick by using his metallic hand punching straight in her chest, sending her flying but slowed as she used her claws to dig deep into the ground to stop herself from flying farther.

As the two gained some distance Shalltear on all fours crawled to the side like a tiger before jumping left and right to disorient him then pouncing on him for a grapple. Both grabbed each other the moment the pounce connected. Kroq-gar stepped back a couple but no further while Shalltear tried with all her might and couldn't push each other further. Both holding each other's heads with their left hands then proceeded to slug it out using the right arms to punch each other in the left side of their face.

They punched and punched yet both didn't even react to the punch but just kept doing it until both decided to headbutt each other at the same time knocking both back. As they reoriented. Both can see their faces are bruised on the left side but not giving up and now it's Kroq-gars turn to attack. He began his attack by trying to feign a right hook but going in for a left jab to the gut. Shalltear on the defensive tried to block a right hook but got hit in the side by a jab loosening some of her stitching. Biting down the pain she then used the momentum from reeling back from the punch and spun it to a double handed overhead strike hitting Kroq-gar straight in the head forcing him to take a knee from that strike.

Taking the opportunity she kneed his face upright then tried to slash his chest sparking with negative energy. The slash landed but got hit in the face by a left jab exchanging hits. Both stumbled back reeling from the blows. Kroq-gar standing tall but having his chest wounds reopen from the negative blast. Shalltear took one knee in place, drooling a little from the blow. But quickly recovered and punched each other in an over and under headed punch straight at each other's chests. Both hit's impacted and without a moment's hesitation kept punching each other exchanging blows. Both hit the body, shoulders, and face in quick succession until both stumbled back from an equal exchange of right punches straight at the side of each other's face. As both stumbled but standing tall.

They both wiped their faces from the brawl and drew out their weapons. Shalltear extends her claws out again while Kroq-gar grips his spear right at the weapon point rather than the wooden part and both circled each other. The circling ended when Shalltear made her move by karate chopping Kroq-gar seeing this he regripped his spear and blocked the chop using the wooden part of the spear and supporting the block with both hands to hold the chop in place. Undeterred, she pushes herself off of the wooden spear and tries it again acting like her right hand is a sword crackling with negative energy. Kroq-gar quickly blocks the chop then pushes it quickly then goes in for a side swipe but is blocked by Shalltears left hand and begins to slide it all the way to Kroq-gars hand cutting it drawing blood but only a little. As the cut begins to expand on his wound. Shalltears took the opportunity to extend both her claws and cut in a flurry of slashing attacks.
