Leo sat at the table; his excitement barely contained as he delved into the VIP system. The wooden chair creaked slightly as he shifted, the sound grounding him in the moment. "Let's see," he muttered to himself, scanning the interface. "So I have access to VIP perks, huh?"
Receive daily rewards: 1 great red potion, and 1 great blue potion.
His eyes widened, his breath quickening. "I need to check how much these great potions are worth right now. They might come in handy."
"Access to VIP services!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing softly in the quiet room. He leaned forward, the floorboards creaking under the table. "I'll check that list later," he decided, moving on.
He continued to scan the benefits. "Exclusive quests access and access to VIP offers too."
VIP protection: VIP-related benefits cannot be scouted.
"I need to confirm this later too."
Discount Madness: Able to bargain for any item from 10% up to 50% of its price.
"Aha! Another money-making skill!" Leo's fingers danced over the interface, his face illuminated by the soft glow of the transparent window. He then reached the Share the Pain perk. The description intrigued him. He read it carefully,
Share the Pain: People you interact with will be added to your Targets List. You can then select anyone from this list to activate the perk. Upon activation, an experience box will appear, showing the total years of the target's experience, the current years you can sync into, and the remaining years available for syncing. Note that the user will be paralyzed during the syncing process. This can only be used once per VIP level.
Sync progress: The user will see and experience everything that has happened to the target.
Successful sync: Receive all the abilities of the target from the synced years. Increase all stats by 10 times the number of synced years.
Unsuccessful sync: Death.
Targets List: Greater than my Power level
"The benefits are tempting," he mused, his brow furrowing. "But does it outweigh the consequences? I'll need to be careful using this perk. But I might need to use it per VIP level." He scratched his head, pondering the risks and rewards.
He tapped the Targets list button. Another window opened, revealing a long list of names. Leo's eyes skimmed over the multitude of entries, but he didn't bother to scan the list in detail. His focus zeroed in on Amanda's name almost instantly. His heart quickened with anticipation as he tapped her name, causing a new message box to appear, its edges glowing faintly.
"So I can only sync two years?" he asked himself, his voice barely a whisper. "Whoa!" he exclaimed noticing another detail. "I can sync up to 100 years?! So elves live that long, huh? I wonder how long they can actually live. Maybe I'll ask her later."
He paused, an idea forming. "If this is a slider, maybe I can do this?" He slid the bar forward. "Whoa! It worked!" A red text appeared below the slider: Warning: Target years for syncing is greater than the recommended value.
"Wow, this system is quite user-friendly, huh? I like it." He smiled, remembering the applications he tested in his past life. "Wait a minute," he muttered, spotting a button labeled "Activate using gold coins".
He tapped it, and another message box appeared.
You don't have enough gold coins. Need 100,000 gold coins to proceed.
