"Oi Xavier, wake up, we're here," Xander said, shaking his twin awake. Once we'd got on the plane he'd crashed, and had slept the whole way through.
When he didn't wake up, Xander picked him up, giving him a piggyback as we exited the plane.
The heat hit me like a wave. It was a good heat, after months of snow and freezing cold I wanted to relish in it.
"Ugh heat" Xander grumbled, shifting Xavier on his back.
"It's glorious," Lucy grinned. "Sun!" she started skipping ahead a smile on her face.
"Glad to see someone enthusiastic," Flynn said from behind us, nudging Matteo.
"Can't blame her," Leo smiled, adjusting his backpack.
"It's almost as good as Australia" I laughed.
"Not quite of course" Noah chimed in. "Doesn't Australia not even have winter?"
"Noah you are so dumb sometimes" Jess whacked him playfully with her hand then reached out for his hand taking it in hers. "They have winter of course"
"Sometimes I wonder if they even teach you at school," Matteo grumbled.
We continued towards the airport, the others bickering in the background as per usual.
We made our way off of the tarmac and into the airport where we gathered up our suitcases from the carousel. Matteo and Flynn had run off to go pick up our new van, the one which we would be driving in.
The rest of us were sitting in another fancy seating area in the airport when Leo spoke up after a text pinged through.
"I think they're ready outside" he paused and Lucy peered at his phone. "You couldn't tell though from this text, Flynn has the most awful texting skills.
"So true though" Xavier chimed in. He was now awake and only slightly less crazy than before.
"Man needs to sort out his autocorrect."
"C'mon get up guys I wanted to leave before 12" Leo stood up kicking Noah's suitcase. "Get moving"
"Fine" Noah untangled himself from Jess and they stood up, each pushing a suitcase.
Our random new friend (Cole I think), stood up as well, a not so pleasant expression on his face. Honestly it was kinda concerning that I didn't know who he was. He was literally coming on our family holiday?!
Leo let out a small sigh, and followed suit pulling his phone out of his pocket. He visibly paled and I watched as his foot stumbled on Noah's suitcase wheel. He stumbled a few steps, his phone slipping out of his hands and falling onto the floor.
"Leo you good?" Lucy asked. I bent down to pick up his phone, and checked it for cracks. Luckily it was all good. His hands were shaking as I gave it to him.
"Yeah just stumbled," he plastered on a smile. "All good"
"Ok" Lucy smiled at him.
We approached the huge van which Matteo was driving. He rolled down the window and yelled.
"What took you so long? The trunk's open, unload and hop in"
"Leo was busy tripping over" Xavier laughed.
"Nobodys laughing Xavier" he scowled and hopped into the van, Lucy straight behind him.
"Whatever whatever" Xavier mumbled. " I don't see you helping pack Leo, straight to hopping in the van"
"It's ok Xav" I laughed and patted his back helping him haul his bag into the trunk.
Everyone piled into the van ahead of me and I found the last seat.
