As the four cars slowly approach the starting line, a woman runs across the street with spray paint to mark the start of the race. Each car approaches the line one by one, stopping just before the line. Except for Brian. Who flies over it. Slightly embarrassed, he is forced to reverse so that he is in line with the others.

When Brian is back in the correct position, he looks over to his right-hand side and notices that all the racers are looking at him unimpressed and smug, like they have already won the race. Except for Dom, who slightly shakes his head amused and lovingly, lightly laughing at the blonde.

Dom pulls out his phone and sends a quick text message before focusing his attention on the race. Brian, hearing the ding of his phone, pulls it out of his pocket and reads the message:

Dominic: ride or die, baby. ♥️ See you at the finish line! 😘

A smile instantly appears on Brian's face.

Not bothering to respond, he focuses ahead and attempts to calm down his nerves. This was definitely not his first race, but it had been a while. Brian sits in his car and mutters to himself, "I'm going to win," repeatedly before turning behind him to twist the nobs of his NOS tanks, pressing the buttons on his dashboard, and opening his laptop that was sitting on his passenger seat. Brian was nervous but ready. He just hoped he could put into practice all the things that Dom had taught him since meeting each other.

Dom was nothing but calm. I mean, he is the King of the Streets for a reason. He lifts the passenger seat to reveal his NOS tanks and makes the necessary adjustments to get ready. Leon, who is sitting in his car, listens to the police radio that is mounted on his dashboard, waiting for the perfect opportunity for the race to begin. Finally, he hears there is a code 187 in Glendale. Not wasting a moment, Leon contacts Hector, confirming that the race can now start.

Hector raises his hands to signal to the drivers that the race is ready to start, making each driver rev their engines and put the car in first gear. The King of the Streets is the first to get off the line, while Brian almost loses control of the car right from the beginning, clearly his nerves getting to him.

The race is exactly what everyone expects. Brian almost fries his engine in an attempt to keep up with Dom, and Dom flies over the finish line for an easy win. However, probably the most shocking moment is when Brian flies over the finish line second, right behind the King of the Streets.

Dom and Brian get out of their cars at the same time; however, the crowd only has eyes or attention for the King of the Streets. Dom is approached by Hector, who slaps the money and pink slip he won into his hand. "Here you go, man, congratulations! You were racing a bunch of skateboards, you know what I mean?" Dom smirks and accepts his winnings. "My sister holds the cash," Dom states while handing it over to Mia, telling her, "Count it."

Mia, rolling her eyes, accepts the cash and does what she is told, making sure it is all there. Dom's attention turns to the blonde, who is still standing besides his driver's side door, breathing heavily from the adrenaline still pumping through him, but with a massive smile on his face.

As Dom walks in the direction of where Brian is standing, he is stopped by Letty, who wraps her arms around his neck and grabs his face, attempting to bring his lips to hers while murmuring, "Am I your trophy?" Dom, realising just in time before their lips can meet, lightly grabs Letty's arms that are around his neck and breaks away from her hold, giving her a slight warning glare. Brian, who witnessed the exchange, has a slight fault in his smile, instantly feeling jealous and annoyed that he couldn't stake his claim in front of everyone.

Dom receives congratulations and pats on the back from people in the crowd as he finally reaches Brian. Dom stops in front of the man and is instantly memorised by his stunning blue eyes. Dom conveys all the things he could not say out loud. Love. Admiration. And a shitload of smugness for winning the race. Before Dom could say anything, though, Jesse was at the front of Brian's car, lifting up the hood. "Was that fun?" Jesse said sarcastically while his face was plunged with smoke.
