Chapter 5 (Part 1): Let's get it started in here..

Dom carried Brian for a considerable distance until they managed to get a taxi. Brian laid his head on Dom's shoulder during the car ride back to Dom's house, while Dom cuddled up against Brian, wrapping his arm around his back. It wasn't long before they arrived, both untangling themselves from each other and exiting the car. Dom insisted on paying the taxi fare, despite Brian's protests.

Dom and Brian stood on the front lawn of the property and looked towards the house, hearing the loud music coming from inside. Clearly, Dom's team had invited people over after the race, and there was a party going on inside.

Brian turned to look at Dom before placing a chaste kiss on his lips, before smiling and preparing himself for the walk to his own place. Dom, confused, called out to the blonde before he could get too far away from him and grabbed his hand. "Hey, where are you going?" Brian, turning back towards Dom, timidly said, "I am heading home. I thought you might want to join your team, and I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable by being there."

Dom is still confused by his boyfriend's words. "What do you mean? I want you to come inside with me. I don't care what the team has to say. Look, I know this is hard—keeping our relationship a secret. I really appreciate how patient you have been with me, and I thank you for trying to make this easier, but they aren't going to get used to the idea of you being in my life if they don't see you." Dom doesn't wait for Brian to agree before he pulls the blonde towards the house.

Both men drop each other's hands once they have entered through the front door. Dom stands at the entry of the house watching all the guests having fun, including his team. He can spot Leon in the corner with a blonde woman on his lap, clearly flirting and Letty on the floor on her stomach playing a video game. Dom feels his anger return instantly. The man was being chased down by cops, and his so-called 'team' clearly did not care or, worse, notice.

Dom removes his maroon leather jacket and places it on the hanger at the entry before he storms towards Leon, stepping over Letty to get there. Leon, hearing footsteps approaching, looks up to see Dom.

"Hey Dom, we were just about to come looking for you, bro" Leon casually said. Clearly lying, Dom knocks the beer bottle straight out of Leon's hand, making it drop all over him and the blonde girl he had on his lap. Not waiting for Leon to make up any further lies, he moves on to walk towards his best friend, who is sitting in the other corner of the room with a guitar in his hand, clearly trying to impress the woman next to him.

Dom, getting more and more agitated, stood in front of the man angrily, "Where the fuck were you?" Vince, like Leon, tried to come up with an excuse for his actions that could get him out of this situation: "There were mass cops there. They come in from every direction. It was orchestrated," relaying what had happened as if Dom wasn't there.

"Is this your beer?" Not waiting for Vince to answer, he picks it up along with a couple of other beers and starts to walk back towards Brian.

As Dom is walking, he spots Jesse making out with a girl against the wall. "Yo, Einstein! Take it upstairs. You can't detail a car with the cover on." Jesse is startled by Dom's loud and aggressive tone, completely unaware of what has transpired since his arrival. Dom shakes his head and continues towards Brian, but is stopped by another team member, this time Letty. "You all right?" she innocently asks. Dom scoffs at the women and asks the question back, "Am I all right?" Letty, taken back from Dom's tone, said, "It was just a question." Dom does not acknowledge her any further while, again, walking towards Brian.

Dom, who has finally reached the blonde who remained at the entry, is stopped in his tracks by Vince, who shouts across the room, "Yo Dom! Why did you bring the buster here?" Unfortunately, for Vince, Dom sees red. He is completely done having this conversation or having to explain himself to anyone on his team. In an instance, Dom has turned back towards Vince and yells, "Cause the buster kept me out of handcuffs! Even though he wasn't the person who watched me go to prison! He didn't just run back to the fort like a coward! He showed me more respect than the man I have known since the third grade! He did what you were meant to be doing! The buster brought me back!" He turns around to look back at Brian and smirks, "You can have any brew you want, as long as it's a Corona."

"Thanks, baby," Brian whispers while grabbing the Corona.

Before Brian could take a swig, Dom reminds the blonde that it was Vince's beer, which makes Brian wipe the top of the bottle before finally taking a swig of the beer, looking directly at Vince while he did it. Rubbing it in as much as he could. Dom turns around to watch Vince's reaction.

Dom smirked, proud that his man could hold his own.

Brian breaks eye contact with Vince and asks Dom, "Hey, you got a bathroom?" Dom, continuing to stare at Vince, responds, "Upstairs. First door on the right." Brian walks up the stairs, while Dom goes and finds a seat to hopefully start enjoying his night. But as soon as he is seated, three members of his team approach, diminishing those hopes.

Vince is the first to express his discomfort. "What are you doing, Dom? He's got no call being here. You don't know that fool for sh*t." Leon adds, "He's right, Dom." Dom pulls his head down towards his lap, completely sick of his team's bullshit. "There was a time I didn't know either of you. So, how about we give him a chance instead of judging him? Plus, do I need to remind you both who had my back tonight?"

Vince instantly becomes defensive. "Come on, bro! I already said I was sorry! I have put my ass on the line for you before."

"You know I have your back." Leon adds, "We are both sorry, bro. Let us make it up to you—you want us to get you a girl tonight? You name it! You want mine?" Vince pipes up to add, "You want two?" This makes Dom laugh. He is trying to remain mad at them, but they are family, and they have been through a lot together.

"You both got nothing! 'cause you both don't have any game" making both men begin shouting at Dom to prove that he was wrong, making Dom laugh harder.

Letty, who was watching the conversation, was getting angry that Dom was thinking of hooking up with another woman and decided to interrupt. Letty points at both Vince and Leon, "You both need to shut the fuck up." She turns towards Dom to get his attention and block his view of the guests.

"You look tired. How about we go upstairs and I give you a massage?" she asks suggestively. Dom scoffs at his ex-girlfriend's words, "No thanks. Look at all the guests we have here. And clearly, these idiots need me as there wingman."

Angry that Dom did not fall for her act, Letty angrily asks, "Well we need to talk privately upstairs right now." Dom rolls his eyes but agrees to talk privately, but only if it is on the front porch. Dom knew that he had to be civil with her for the sack of the team.

Letty and Dom both head towards the entry. At this point, Brian is descending down the stairs to join the group again but stops next to Letty and Dom, confused as to what he missed. Before Dom can follow Letty outside, he turns towards Brian and smirks, "By the way, you owe me a 10-second car," following Letty outside to the front porch.

Dom and Letty step outside; Letty being the last one to exit through the front door, closes it behind her. Dom walks towards one of the pillars to lean against it while turning around to face the women. Honestly just wanting to get this conversation over as soon as possible.

As he turns around, Letty grabs his face and starts to passionately kiss him. Dom responds for a second before realising it was the wrong set of lips and lightly pushes her back. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" Letty moved closer to Dom so that she could continue to kiss him, "What does it look like?" pulling him closer to her. Dom lightly puts a hand out to stop her and moves his face to the side.

"We are not getting back together, Letty. You need to stop doing this." Letty, scoffs in disbelief, "I have given you the time and space you asked for, but it is time for us to get back together. Come on, Dom. We are meant to be together. Are you really going to throw away almost a decade together."

Dom is furious. "You gave me those things because I caught you cheating!"
