another day, another six hours i had to spend with gia.
"i can't stand her anymore," i whine, putting away some boxes into the storage room like claire had told me to. brady comes in with another set of boxes.
"it's okay, only another week and the gala and you never have to see her again," he reminds me.
"by the way, this fake dating thing is really working," i tell him.
"really? how'd you know?"
"well, first, everytime they see us together they glare at us, more than usual and tester gia asked me whether we were dating like in a super jealous tone," i fill him in.
"i guess you got what you wanted huh?" he says sounding a little sad.
"i mean not really, they haven't been upfront about it but i can tell we're getting to them."
he grabs the last of the boxes before we walk back to the hall where an annoyed gia awaited me.
"where have you been? we still have a wall to paint," she says.
"i had to do something, claire told me to," i tell her, unable to entertain her impatience.
she glances down to brady and i's interlocked hands, scoffing. "are you guys really dating? i've never even seen you kiss."
"we are and why do you care?" i retaliate.
before she could answer, ethan comes up behind her, wrapping his arms around her and kisses her neck. my nose crinkles in disgust.
"okay then prove it," she challenges.
brady looks at me in panic as we had agreed we wouldn't kiss.
fuck the contract.
i grab his collar, smashing my lips against his. we kiss for a few seconds before gia yells at us.
"okay fine! i get it you guys are dating," she crosses her arms. ethan lips were slight parted as his eyebrows rais in shock. his face hardens as he walks away with gia.
i turn to brady who seems taken aback from before.
"i thought we agreed we wouldn't kiss?" he quirks and eyebrow at me.
"i'm sorry-ugh she was just getting on my last nerve," i apologise.
"nah you're good. and it was a good kiss," he winks playfully causing the blood to rush to my cheeks.
i shake my head before heading over to the wall i was supposed to paint.
today we ended early in the afternoon so we decided to go for lunch.
i put away the paint cans in the storage room but then hear someone behind me. i assumed it was brady since we were going to lunch.
i turn around but my smile drops when im met with ethan's face.
"i see the way you look at him, do you love him?" ethan ask, his voice laced with hurt, anger and jealousy.
"that doesn't concern you ethan," i say harshly.
i try walking past him but he blocks my way.
"come on, hales. don't you miss us? we were good together," he says in a condescending tone.
i shove him away. "don't call me hales. and no we weren't!"
i quickly run out to where brady and the others were. i wrap my arms around his torso, glancing toward the entrance to see if ethan had followed.
he wraps his arms around me looking down in concern,"are you okay?"
"yeah, i'm fine, just had an uncomfortable run in with ethan," i tell him my voice shaky, my eyebrows furrowed with frustration.
"he didn't do anything did he," his voice stern.
"no-no, i was just uncomfortable," i assure.
he nods, rubbing his hand over my shoulder comfortingly.
we left to go to where we were eating.
i sit next to brady in the booth as we all talked about the upcoming gala or anything else we had going on.
sabrina leans her head on connor's shoulder as he kisses her head. we all erupt in yells and groans telling them knock off the pda.
"i'm so excited for the gala because i missed out on prom," sabrina says.
"same," i agree, nodding my head relentlessly.
we ordered a pizza which finally came so once it was set on the table and the waiter had left we all immediately went in for a slice.
"so how's it going when you're going to be auctioned off," i snort, before taking a bite of my pizza.
brady rolls his eyes,"you guys are asses for signing us up."
we just laugh at him.
"yeah its 2024 why are still objectifying people," connor says, sassily.
"oh come on it will be fun," i encourage.
