"Hello?"

I heard a knock on my door. I stood up from the couch and checked to see who's outside. "Who's there?" I opened the door and saw my neighbor, Xavier. "What takes you here?"

"I sent you a message that I will come over." his voice now low. I almost laughed when I heard his stomach rumbled. "You invited me, right?"

I chuckled. "Yes, I invited you. Come on in." I was actually waiting for him to come over. I promised i would cook dinner for him. "So.. what would you like me to cook for you?"

"Well.. I like those muffins you made last time." he scratched his head.

"Are you sure?" I teased him.

His cheeks turned beet red. I pulled him to my kitchen. "Help yourself with some cookies first. I'll start making your muffins."

His eyes lit up when he saw the cookie jar on top of my kitchen counter. He opened it and munched on the cookies.

"You can take that to your place."

"D-Do you need some help?" He asked me as I pulled all the ingredients.

"Just sit there and watch, Xavier."

I still remember the disaster that happened last time he helped me with cooking. He shrugged. "Okay."

Nobody is talking for half an hour and I am almost done with his request. His head perked up when the smell of freshly baked muffins wafted in the air.

"It's done?" He came close to me and peeked.

"Yes. Its done." I put the tray in front of him and turned to get a plate. He looks hungry. I looked at the cookie jar and he almost finished everything.

"Why are you so hungry?" Crossing my arms I gave him a questioning look.

He looked the other way. "You see--"

"Did you eat your lunch?" From the looks of it, he didn't. He came from work, changed clothes and went straight to my place. I swear, i am spoiling this guy with treats and foods. I moved slowly.

"Stop making me wait, Nadine." His voice is now a bit whiny.

"I'm not," i picked the muffins carefully. "It's still hot."

He stopped my hand from picking up the second muffin. "Before anything else," he pulled me close to his body. "I noticed you never greeted me earlier." His blue eyes turned a shade darker.

This guy isn't some helpless bunny.

He is a wolf. A fox. I gulped.

"I.. I didn't?" My breath hitched when he pushed me gently and my back was leaning on the fridge. "X-Xavier.."

"Yes, Nadine."

"Y-Youre scaring me."

"Do I?"

His hands roamed on my waist and slowly slid down my hips. Then slowly caressed my arms. I mustered up all my courage and looked into his eyes. "Yes." I breathed.

"You, looking at me straight into my eyes," he kissed my nose and closed his eyes. "Is not giving me the idea of you, being scared of me, miss."

"But you d-- mff" he kissed me and made use of the moment to taste my lips, and take all my courage to fight for dominance. I easily melted on his kisses.

Gently grabbing my hair, he made me look up to him, allowing his kisses to be deepened. I can't feel my legs. I gripped his sleeves for my dear life.

This is crazy! I thought he was hungry?!

I was surprised when he lifted me and made me sit on the counter.

The muffins!

No muffin fell. Not even the tray.

"I missed you this morning." He rasped. "You're gone in my bed when I woke up."

"I need to come to work, you know."

"You should've woken me up."

"You need to rest."

It's true. He arrived late last night and.. and.. uhh. I blushed.

Xavier doesn't need to come to work like how normal hunters do. I don't know his deal with the hunters association, but he comes and goes as he pleases. He knows my door password and I have his door key.

We aren't normal neighbors.

Were not just neighbors.

"I prioritize sleep but you're more important, Nadine." He let our foreheads touch as he looked into my eyes.

I kissed him. His gaze pulls me into kissing him.

Now you're blaming his beautiful eyes?

I sighed.

"Nadine.."

"The muffins, Xavier." I pushed him and jumped off the counter.

"Not so fast, Miss Hunter." He pulled me back and I realized we are like dancing.

"B--But!" He pinned me on the wall and held my wrists together above my head. I tried to break free from his grip and he smiled.

"Fight, Nadine." He urged. Fighting means touching and touching would lead to things..

I pout. I am getting riled up with his teasing. "Scoot over or you won't get a muffin. Not even a damn bite, Xavier."

He smirked. "You will let me starve?"

My eyes turned to slits. "You are that confident?"

"Muffins are ready." He lets go of my wrists and kisses my hands. He snatched one from the tray and rummaged through my fridge. He must be looking for the milk. I shrugged. He's that comfortable at my place.

We finished-- I mean he finished every muffin and is lazing out on the beanbags he bought for me. A little bit more time and he will be sleeping already.  He pulled me closer and cuddled with me.

"Nads?" His voice soft, yet gruff. Like he's in between of being awake and being asleep?

"You hold a special place in my heart. All yours and never changing. Always have and always will."

I smiled and faced him.

"Yes Xavier." Gently caressing his cheeks, I repeated the last part he said. "I love you. Always have. Always will."
