Beauty and Pain

{CHAPTER TEN}

  Prince and I came down from the car after arriving at the house and left Prudence to park the car in the garage. I went to my room and walked straight into the shower, I needed to rub today's stress off me.

After a much needed shower, I went to my closet and picked out something light to wear. Having nothing else to do till dinner time, I brought out some notes I borrowed from Sabrina and go through them noting down important things in my own note.

I was so caught up in what I was doing that I didn't realise when evening came around, there was a knock on my door and I knew it was one of my brothers calling me downstairs for dinner.

"I'll be down soon give me a minute!". I yelled packing my books and arranging it neatly on my reading desk before heading out for dinner. Everyone was already there except my dad, that made me frown a bit.

Mum must have noticed it because she answered the question I was about to ask. "He had an important business to take care of in London, it was a last minute call so he didn't have the time to inform you guys".

I nod in understanding and sat down, dinner was passed round the table quietly and we began eating, I guess mum didn't like the quiet atmosphere because she started talking about her day and we contributed when it was necessary, it was going well until she made the mistake of asking us how our day went.

"It was awesome! I mean, Ravenwood was cool and all but this? This is the dream life momma, starting from the classes to the sports field and..."

"I don't think think I want to know about the last part Prince" I say glaring daggers at him.

"Me neither". Prudence says as well.

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean? Mum, Pristine and Prudence are being mean again"

"Why don't you guys let him finish, he was having fun talking about his day" Mum says looking concerned for Prince.

"If we let him finish I don't think we'll be able to finish our meal and I'm quite hungry so no thanks". Prudence says and continues eating.

"What do you know I was going to talk about anyways?" Prince mumbles to himself and sinks in his chair but Prudence and I heard him so we both replied together.

"Girls".

Mum just laughed and nodded her head in understanding, she cleaned her lips and stood up wishing us all a goodnight before going to her room.

"What if I didn't want to talk about girls, what if I was about to say something else?" Prince says still sulking in his chair. I don't know what Prudence said to him and I don't care either cause I was already on my way to my room.

I plopped down on my bed and stared at the ceiling, having contemplated doing this for a while now, I grabbed my phone and went to my friends group chat but then I saw a new group chat that I had been added to.

I laughed at the weird name and clicked on the profile picture and saw it was Sabrina, of course, she's the only one insane enough to do this, I went through the group members and saw that we were only six, hence the name.

I pinned the group chat and went to Ravenwoods', luckily for me they were all online because they were talking about their day and making jokes about teachers and students. Here goes nothing.

Sophia: Pristine? Oh my God Pristine!!!!!! You're okay😭😭

Jenna: Ummm, yoo P, is it really you?

Pristine: Yeah, sorry I ghosted you guys.

Makayla: Geez girl we thought you were dead or something, you're alive so it's all good

Pristine: 😊how has Ravenwood been without me?...

I ended up talking to the girls and catching up on a lot of things till late in the night, since we all had school the next day we bid each other a good night and for the first time in a while I slept peacefully.

Honestly, this wasn't how I planned this chapter but oh well...

We still have a long way to go people so don't leave me yet, don't worry, it's not as long as you think☺
