CHAPTER ELEVEN
(a little change)THE GROUP SAT IN THE BOOTH OF THE RESTURANT, Tommy and Elaine leaning over the other booth so they could be apart of the conversation too. Elaine leaned over the seat behind Graham and Tommy did the same on the other side, in between where Warren and Eddie were sitting. The Loving girl had one arm leaning against the top of the seat, holding her head up, as her other hand rested at the nape of Graham's neck, playing with his curls.
"Might have to save half of that toast for tomorrow, Eddie. This is barely enough to cover the rent." You would think with eight people paying rent, it would be enough, but California is expensive.
"Fuck." Elaine sighed as she rested her head on Graham's shoulder, the boy letting his head fall against hers. The Loving girl grinned softly as her friend shoved his remaining piece of toast into his shirt pocket.
"Fuck it, man. Maybe... maybe old Chuckie was right, huh? Maybe this was all just a big mistake and that we should have just stayed home with our moms, save money on rent, become dentists." The brunette girl looked at her brother, motioning towards the curly haired boy in front of him. Tommy knew what she was hinting at, so he smacked the Rojas man upside the head, making him mutter a string of curse words.
"I've sent out hundreds of photographs, and not a single fucking paper has responded. I mean, should I just quit? No one said it was gonna be easy." As Cami spoke, Elaine noticed the small liquor bottle that Billy had magically pulled out of his fucking ass, pouring some of the contents into his coffee.
"Also, while we're talking about stuff, how come I'm the only one without a bed in the house?" Elaine sighed, telling the boy that he had volunteered to sleep on the pull out because he didn't want to sleep in the room Karen now lived in. "No, I couldn't have. That room is haunted."
"It's not haunted." Suddenly, everyone began to talk over each other before Eddie brought up his pocket toast.
"Why are we still called The Dunne Brothers?" The brunette sitting behind Dunne looked over at Billy, lifting her head from Graham's shoulder as Karen continued to speak. "I mean, four of us aren't Dunnes, and the last time I checked, I'm nobody's brother."
"So, you want to change our name?" Elaine watched as Billy looked around, as if he were searching for someone to agree with him, only to realize everyone else was in agreement.
"I personally think that's a great idea." Billy turned to Eddie, glaring at him as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Me too. It's time for a little change, don't you think, Billy?" Warren nodded his head as the eldest Dunne brother rolled his eyes, groaning as the brunette spoke again. "I'm just saying what everybody's thinking."
"Well, Elaine, the name is the name. That's how people know us."
"Okay, well, it sucks, Billy." The long haired man looked over at her, telling her she didn't have an opinion on the matter because she wasn't an original member of the band. Graham quickly sat a bit straighter, ready to defend Elaine as she smirked.
"The size of your ego is insane. You wouldn't be here without any of us. My riffs make our songs good. No offense to Eddie or Graham, but no one can play like me. So fuck off, and pull your big ol' head out of your ass."
"We don't need you, Elaine. You're nothing." Cami's eyes widened as she turned to Billy, apologizing to Elaine for his horrible attitude as Graham spoke.
"Lay off of her, Billy. She's the greatest guitarist we've seen and you know it."
"You're just being biased because you're in love with her, Graham." The brunette girl behind Graham smirked, shaking her head as she moved out of the booth to leave. As she left, she stopped in front of the group, placing her hands on the part of table in front of Billy, making the plates and glasses shake.
"You don't deserve any of this. You're just a self centered dick who can't fathom the possibility of not being the most important part of the band. Without any of us, you'd just be another singer with dreams of being famous. But guess what? You aren't good enough without us behind you. So get fucking over it and start being grateful that you have a band like us, jack ass." The Loving girl walked away, Graham quickly pushing himself out of his seat so he could climb over the seat to go after her.
"Graham."
"What? She's right."
