The Salvation of The Soul: Baptism

"Alyza"

The stern and cold voice brought me out of my thoughts,i raised my head up from the food that i was using as an excuse to keep myself busy and avoid any kind of interaction or involvement in the conversation with the people whom i know as my family... which now sounds like a foreign word to me,hard to understand and accomodate with.

My eyes locked with the serious and strict gaze of my mother who have been already staring at me with a hint of displeasure and irritation for being ignored.

My face refused to show any reaction at all despite knowing well what my mother trying to tell me through her stern and silent stare, well which is the actual thing that I've been trying from the couple of weeks to avoid but every time it gets brought up in the middle of the every single interaction i have with my parents and always it ends up with a heated argument in the end, which I'm not looking forward to it right now,so now i am trying my best to keep my lips sealed tight to restrict myself from retorting that would be an another reason for my mother to burst over me.

*Deeply sighed*..... Alyza,i guess i don't have to remind you to what day is today,do i.?

Of course,i know what day is today, how can i forget.... afterall, it's the day that have stolen my peace and sanity ever since it's been declared....*remarked mentally*

After a brief moment of silence, i spoke with all the gathered up strength within me while mentally keep telling myself not to lose control infront of them.

"You don't have to,i know what day is today"

My mother raised her brows in surprise upon hearing my words which caught her completely off guard.

*Exhaled surprisedly*, "So?"....her voice weveared with a known tinge of excitement at which i clashed my teeth together in frustration over her excitement of finally achieving her goal of making me agreed with her wishes like always.

I gently put my cutlery down and got up from the table....both my elder brother and father took a look at me before turning their attention back again on the food infront of them like always not having the feeling to involved in the matter between me and Mom.

My Mom raised her head along with my raising figure with a deep frown between her brows as if assuming,i might be again avoid the topic by running away in the middle of the conversation.

But, to her surprise what i did next not just left her reddened speechless but even got my brother and father's mouth hung low in shock.
