Jason's pov
Only 2 more weeks of this crap and this school or the damn principal can't watch down my back. I've had to be real careful. I've seen some of the teachers around my usual hangouts. Last period of the day. It always brings a smile to my face. For some reason, she doesn't show up. Where is she? It's a little worrying. What if someone caught her? I peek out in the hall. The principal is talking to her, increasing my fear. Now what do I do?! I get back in the classroom, pressed against the wall. I cannot get fired. She has to graduate first. Several minutes later, she comes in. I breathe a relieved sigh. "What was that all about?" I ask. "He was asking where I went after school which of course I didn't tell him the truth." She says. I sit on the floor, leaning my head against the wall. "All this sneaking around is driving me nuts." I mutter, closing my eyes. "Only 2 weeks left, come on you can toughen it out, right?" She says, sitting beside me. "I'm tryin', hun." I say. The intercom comes on. "There's a call for Mr. Aldean in the central office." "On my way." I say, standing up. I have a feeling it's a trap. They're trying to trick me or somethin'. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid. Who knows. I'm nervous as hell though. I walk down to the office. It turns out it really was just a call! Phew. I pick up the reciever. "Hello?" I say. "This is Mr. Jason Aldean, right?" He asks. "The one and only." I reply, "who's this?" "My names Jim. I'm Miranda's uncle." He says. I almost drop the phone in surprise. "Oh, okay. I'm at work right now, though." I say worried their listening in. "I'll make this quick then. You've got a spot reserved in a small record label called broken bow. When ya get up here, you'll sing a few songs and they'll see if they like you." He says. "Oh ok, cool. I'll see ya in a couple weeks." I hang up and am about to leave when the principal calls me. Oh shit! I walk in and sit down. "Yes sir?" I ask. "You have a new student for your last class." He says. Why that class?! "Can they be in my other class?" I ask. "Why?" He asks, eyeing me suspiciously. "I just would like it better if he was in there." I say, sweating nervously. "Fine." He mutters with a sigh. I get outta there as fast as possible. I get to my class room and shut the door, leaning against it. "I think we dodged a bullet there." I mutter. "What happened?" She asks. "Your uncle called me. Then the principal told me I had a new student. Nothin' too bad. I was afraid we got caught." I explain. "I wish we were back in Nashville." She whimpers. "What do ya mean back?" I ask, confused. "I live in Nashville. I came down here to get schooled." She says. I look at the clock on the wall. Only 10 minutes until the day is over. "No point in trying to teach ya anything. Class is about over." I say. "I'm sure you can teach me somethin'." She says, flirtatiously. I know she ain't talkin' about school.
