chapter 3: flashbacks

Silence, a deem of darkness though my mind ...and then ...fire .. rising flames ...I remember - chaos ! Father ....mother ....my mother ...she - she was crying..."protect the [###&_-#&#] with your life ! Always have it with you! It will keep you safe ! " A soft weeping woman's voice came in my head ..no .. a dragon....* Who was that ....why did she send me away...."NO! DON'T LEAVE ME ! MOTHER!!!"-  the girl was startled awake as she yelled that last word and started panting uncomfortably as sweat covered her forehead, before her there was a ceiling,a big and beautiful one , she blinked a few times to focus her vision, then she looked around to find herself in a big bed , in a huge room , the room seemed luxurious, surrounded by expensive things and beautiful paintings, the decorations were simple yet classic beautiful, in a closer look you can see that everything in the room is of high quality. The girl could understand that the house was owned by a rich person of high status. She tired to support herself and get up , she could sense that staying there was no simple deal and that it would be of no good for her ,* who knew what those high classed people were up to !* But as soon as she got half body up ,a voice was heard through the corner of the room " I wouldn't do that if I were you!" A woman spoke as she approached with herbs in her hands ," you were unconscious for a week , and the first thing you do is to try to run away as soon as you open your eyes !" " Shouldn't you at least thank your saviours?" " In your condition I wouldn't move so much , but it's a good thing you are in high spirits!who knows' maybe you might recover faster!" The woman said as she put her things down and approached the girl , the girl could see the woman looked kinda , young ? , with beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair raised in a bun , her outfit looked like that of a healer ..or a professional doctor? ...* Did she save me ?* the girl though...then she was caught off guard by a hand placed in her forehead checking on her condition, then the woman spoke :" good ! Your fever is down ! Does your head still hurt? Any physical pain ?! Hmm ?" She asked kindly, only then did the girl feel a throbbing pain from her head and body , she realised she was covered in bandages in her head and in different hurting parts of her body , she realised she actually had no strength at all and that she was actually injured. " You were so focused on escaping that now that you calmed down you realised the condition of your body ." The woman left a soft sight' " you poor child , you were in such bad condition when my husband brought you in , I thought you wouldn't make it ! But I guess dragons have a different type of healing process!" ...*A dragon?* the girl looked in confusion when those words were mentioned, * wait ...is she referring to me !!??* * Right! I'm not a human ! * The girls face changed to surprise as she remembered* UGH! my head hurts again!* The girl put her hand in her forehead, frowning her eyebrows as she made an uncomfortable expression. The woman understood she was in pain and then grabbed her teapot and boiled some herbs in it , a rich aroma yet bitter filled the room , " by the way , my name is Alice!" The woman spoke as she turned her head towards the girls with a gentle expression, " I'm a doctor and also the wife of the duke ! You know ,the man who saved you a week ago with my daughter Sarah!" " In fact if you want to thank someone that would be my daughter, she insisted for me to save you!" The woman said calmly, " I have never treated a dragon before myself, but I heard from the ones that live in the palace that they usually use herbal treatment so I tried my best ! I'm happy to see it worked! You don't see dragons here in the moon kingdom!" The woman explained to her slowly.* she was such a calm and gentle person, she even tried to make me forget about thinking so I would relax!* . The woman then approached closer and gave her a warm cup of herbal tea, " drink it !" " It will help you with the headache and the pains !" The woman said , * how did she know??!" The girl though. " That face you are making is telling me : " how did I know??" Right!?" " Hahaha , I'm a doctor! I know my patients! You still need a week of rest , after that you can walk freely again! Don't worry, I will watch your healing process, and meals will be served strictly by the severans , so now that we got to know a bit about eachother, what is your name darling? " The woman asked sweetly, " my ...my name ?!" The girl said , " I- I'm not sure ..." , " Oh my ! ? Did you loose your memory!?" The woman got up and said in a worried tone ,as she began to examine again the wound in her head " this is ..not good ..." She said in a low voice , " do you still recall what this is ? " The woman got out a beautiful bracelet made of gold and rubies surrounding it and with a shinning hanging sun white shaped diamond on the centre. Upon seeing the bracelet, a sudden seizure came in the girls head , * voices ! So many voices !* The girl put her hands on her ears covering them as if someone was screaming in her ears , everything was spinning around her , * screams , people, dragons ...a war * her vision moved from one event to the other in her memory,* that dragon... My mother she ...she is telling me something...* As she was seeing a blurry person standing in the distance calling her with all her might*[#-££+]* * what is she saying?* * ##da!* * Tha- that! Is she calling me ?...my name ...* A sudden clearer loud voice yelled from that woman came in her ears *" FRIDAAaa!!"* " AAAAHHH!!" Frida yells as she snaps out of it , ...she suddenly saw she was being embraced by Alice, "dear me ! Are you -" before she could finish the girl says " FRIDA !" " Huh?" Alice responds, " Frida , I remembered now ! " " My name ...is Frida !" The girl said as her excitement started to calm down a little from the sudden episode, " really!?" Alice's face jumped in joy as she let Frida go from her embrace, " you could recall your name ! Did you remember something else ?!" " No "...Frida says in disappointment, " that's a shame ! But it's alright! That means you still have a chance to regain your memories! " Alice said in excitement, " that's a good sign !" " But if you ever happen to recall anything about your past... please don't tell anyone..." She said in a quiet voice as if she was warning her ..no more like an advise nobody else would tell you, the woman gave the bracelet one final good look and then gave it to Frida ," here this belongs to you! You had this with you the day we found you, I figured it would be quite important so I watched over it for you when you were unconscious! Since it seems indeed important to you be careful not to loose it , ok !?" She said with a smile , Frida nodded and said a quiet" okay " , " good girl!" Alice sounded pleased, " let me bring you some food ! I will be back right away! " The sound of the door closing was heard a little bit loud to Frida ..maybe she just had a better hearing than most , Frida was left yet again in a daze , she drank the tea that now had gone a little cold and stared at the bracelet in her hand , she could feel it was familiar but couldn't tell where she had seen it , the more she tired to recall the harder it became , it seemed like her mind was in a constant fog , suddenly she heard a big noise outside, many footsteps running after another lighter footsteps running before them , those footsteps were running towards her door direction and then with a big * BAM* someone entered the room ...
