I've been working in the V's tower for a few years now under Alastor's instructions. I took a week after he announced his job for me so that I could figure out a game plan and decide how I wanted to approach the assignment. I knew I could get in just fine with Velvette, it was Valentino and Vox I was concerned about.
I originally thought about having a different persona and disguise for each of them, but that would be difficult to manage. So, I had to find one that would be interesting for all three of them. At the same time however, I didn't want to come off as too interesting to them.
I decided to stick with the appearance of a small but curvy rabbit demon. I could be skinny enough for Velvette, curvy enough for Valentino to allow me in his sex dungeon, and innocent looking enough to keep Vox interested.
I got in working with Velvette first as a background model. That was perfect. I didn't want to be so front and center and become a favorite, but I wanted to be close enough to Velvette to work with her consistently. I talked with Velvette occasionally, giving her praise for my outfits, which made her want to talk with me more.
Valentino was difficult at first. He would constantly pressure me to be in the films instead of helping produce the films. I had to prove I was a better boom mic operator than his previous operator in order for him to keep me on the job. Just to keep him off my case I did have to help him slip a few drugs in drinks at clubs for him. That made me feel all kinds of disgusting, but I'd rather it be their fate than mine. I know I'm not a saint. I'm in Hell doing dirty work for the fucking Radio Demon. This whole predicament is his fault. However, if I continued helping Valentino find new talent, he would stay off my case. I thought he would be my most difficult of the three overlords, but Vox is proving difficult.
I wait by the elevator with his signature 'Fuck Alastor' mug filled with coffee. One scoop of sugar and no cream. I've learned over the years. Once the elevator beeps, I know it's Vox. I wait patiently to the side where he walks out of the elevator, doesn't even look at me, and grabs the mug.
"Good morning, sir." I say with a big smile and a cheery voice as I follow him. I know he's not a morning person, but I know he likes a happy and peppy secretary.
Vox takes a sip of his coffee and sighs. "The schedule." He says in a groggy tone. I know he's not snippy directly at me and I don't take it personally.
"You have a meeting at 9am with your technology team to go over the new flying drones. At 10:30am Velvette wants a one-on-one meeting with you to go over her social media response to your drone announcement. I blocked off your calendar between after that and lunch so you can work in peace. After lunch Velvette is doing a fashion show. It would look good for Vox tech if you attended. At 3pm Valentino has a new film he wants to show you, and then you're done with meetings for the day." I recite the schedule I created for him as we finally walk into his office. He takes a seat in his office chair and looks at some of the papers on his desk.
"And these?" Vox asks, referring to the papers on his desk as he takes another sip.
"Forms that need your signature before the end of the day. As much as I wish we were paperless we're just not there yet." I lean over the desk and start explaining the reports. "This one is for flight tests of the drones on the West side of the pentagram. This one is for our continued contract with Carmilla. This one-" Before I can explain the next Vox interrupts me by pulling on my arm.
The way he pulls my wrist forces my feet off the ground as I lay across his desk. I use my other hand to prop myself up and look at him. He still hasn't let go.
"When are you going to say yes?" Vox asks me. I sigh, I know what he's referring to. "I've asked you for years now. One. Just one date." He still has a tight grip on my wrist.
"I don't date coworkers, especially my boss." I argue back. I don't know how much longer I can deny his advances without it backfiring. When will Alastor be back? I didn't think I'd look forward to the day, but it's been years!
"Who the fuck cares?!" Vox laughs as he finally let's go of my wrist and stands up from his chair, walking to the other side of his desk. I flip over so I can keep my sight on him as I rub my wrist. "(fake y/n), you've been working as my secretary for years now. For years you've denied me. People don't deny me." I can tell he's getting frustrated. I had to pick a cover name just in case I was ever found in my true form. Having the same name in both forms could prove to be troublesome.
Vox digs his claws into his desk on each side of me as he towers over me. I could keep scooting back, but if I go too far, I'll fall off the desk.
"I've been kind enough to ask you for a date. I've been patient enough to wait years for the correct answer." Vox takes one of his hands and pulls my leg, pulling me closer to him. I can feel my legs against his as he looks down at me. "I'm done being kind and patient." He threatens, that crazed look in his eye. I've seen him use that hypnotic hold on others, so I've learned to not look directly at him. I've learned a few things while working with Vox.
I change my demeanor and my facial expression. I play along, for now. "I like when you take charge, Vox." I compliment. Vox stops using his hypnosis now that I'm doing what he wants, good. I pull on his tie, pulling him closer to me. "I like when you take control." I tease as I move my hand behind his head.
Vox lets out a low chuckle. "Good, because I'm done playing these games with you." I watch his eyes move up and down my frame, looking me over. I can feel his hand move down the back of my neck. Once it reaches the top of my shirt, I can hear it slowly tearing. He's using one of his claws to shred the back of my shirt.
Before he can get too far, I'm still working my hand to the back of his head. I know it's around here somewhere. After a little bit more fumbling, I finally feel it. I slightly tug on one cable that's attached to the back of Vox's head and watch his screen error out. I catch his head before he passes out on his desk and accidentally cracks his screen. I learned about this loose cable trick when he mentioned it after drinks one night with staff after work. Thank you, alcoholic truths.
"Fuck, you're still heavy." I mumble as I push him off me, sit up, wipe myself down, and stand up from the desk. I sigh. This happens roughly once a week and he never seems to remember.
I'm frustrated that I'm looking forward to Alastor's return so that I can be done with this job. But seriously, when will he be back?
