"Hey everyone! We're not quite done yet!" I announce to the lobby as I look at my phone.
Angel is lying on one of the couches, Niffty is cleaning one of the windows, Charlie and Vaggie are sitting together on another couch scrolling through their phones, and Alastor is sitting in one of the chairs reading a book.
"What do you mean we're not done?" Vaggie asks as she looks up at me from her phone.
"We wrote over sixty chapters for this story!" Angel says, exhaustion evident in his voice.
"Do I need to get my dad for this?" Charlie asks. At least she's still on board.
"No, we don't need your dad for this. He's busy preparing for the next story. But we do need Husk." I look over at the bar but notice he's not there. "Where is he?" I ask the group. No one answers.
I sigh, still holding my phone. "Look, we have one pretty big loose end that we need to fix before we can officially end this story!" I explain frantically. "Husk made me a promise and he hasn't fulfilled it yet!" I cross my arms, a little angry.
"That doesn't sound like Husker." Alastor chimes in, looking up at me from his book.
"Well, it's not entirely his fault." I confess. "Things just got really busy and there wasn't much time to focus on it. But I haven't forgotten some of the comments from our readers. If this doesn't get resolved our author won't hear the end of it!" I wave my phone around.
"What comments?" Vaggie asks.
"They can't be that bad." Angel adds as he still focuses on his phone.
"They're not bad comments." I explain as I begin logging into our author's Wattpad account.
"Okay, here for example, from AshIsJustFine. It says, 'What a perfect way to end the chapter. No cliffhanger.' And it has a little emoji next to it." I share with the group as I shrug. "They didn't mean the comment sarcastically, but it's fun to read it like it's a sarcastic comment." I smirk.
This makes Alastor laugh a little. Everyone's focus moves over to him. "I see what this is about now." He mentions as he closes his book and puts it on his lap. "What else is there?" He asks.
"Let's see..." I scroll through to find the others. "Oh! Here! From anxietyfilledfangirl. 'Alastor: How much have you drank? Y/N: Yes.'" I continue sharing as I laugh.
"Why doesn't any of this sound familiar?" Charlie asks, confused.
"Wait..." Angel sits up and puts his phone face down on the couch. "Is this from our night out?" Angel asks as he starts snapping his fingers. He's trying to remember.
I nod. "Yep. After the whole fiasco at the V's tower and I gave you and Husk your contracts back." I explain.
"Also, really quick..." Vaggie interrupts as we all give her our focus. "Are we okay to just break the fourth wall like this? You don't think the readers will be upset?" Vaggie asks.
